The &#039;&#039;&#039;Imperial Relief Effort&#039;&#039;&#039; is a HorizonXI server-wide event leading into the release of [[Treasures of Aht Urhgan]]. By participating in the event&#039;s activities, players can earn [[Imperial Standing]], which affects temporary ToAU launch access through [[The Road to Aht Urhgan]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During the temporary launch restriction, a player&#039;s [[Imperial Standing]] earned through the Imperial Relief Effort determines their [[Boarding Permit]] requirement and several launch travel benefits.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The access items required by lower tiers are new ToAU-release items. They cannot be obtained before ToAU goes live.&lt;br /&gt;

Emissaries from The Near East have been spotted at the crafting guilds throughout the Middle Lands. Requesting supplies to stabilize strained supply lines, aiding them grant small amounts of [[Imperial Standing]] for each turn-in.&lt;br /&gt;

Goblin Traders will aid in the completion of a request, at a price. In exchange for a listed amount of gil, the Goblins will complete a request and split the Imperial Standing rewarded (turn-in ISP/2), rounded up. For example; requests completed through a Goblin Trader that grant 1 IS will provide 1 IS, while 2 IS provides 1 IS, and 3 IS provides 2 IS, etc.&lt;br /&gt;

As of 4/17/26, HQ versions of requested items can be turned in for the same amount of Imperial Standing as their NQ counterparts; however, this only applies to HQ +1 items. Items, such as the [[Traversiere|Traversiere+2]] are not accepted.&lt;br /&gt;

If the scouting party despawns, they will respawn in the zone at the next window between 25-45 minutes later. ====Claiming the Scout====&lt;br /&gt;
Upon locating a Scout, it may take some time for the rest of the alliance to reach them; however, since Scouts can depop, you&#039;ll often need to pull them before everyone is in zone. There are typically two methods for handling this situation:&lt;br /&gt;
* Pull the mobs to the nearest zoneline to lose aggro / rinse and repeat&lt;br /&gt;
* Kite the mobs in wide laps around the zone&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While pulling the mobs to the nearest zoneline is safer, it&#039;s easy to lose track of the mobs if you don&#039;t know their routes, as they&#039;ll immediately begin pathing to their spawn location. As such, it&#039;s advised this be done with at least one other party member, who can track the mobs upon zoning.&lt;br /&gt;

If you choose to kite the mobs, you&#039;ll need some form of movement speed gear and risk not gaining IS on their defeat.&lt;br /&gt;

Similar to the box of supplies, these &#039;Scouting Reports&#039; are neither a physical item nor [[Key Item]]; however, as of June 12, 2026, players can check which reports they are missing by speaking with the [[Imperial Relief Effort#Imperial Relief Effort NPCs|Imperial Relief Effort NPCs]]. Each report is assigned to a specific Beastmen tribe and zone, with the following log message appearing when both conditions are met if the player is in the zone:&lt;br /&gt;

Once a player obtains all Scouting Reports for a single Beastman tribe they can speak with the [[Imperial Relief Effort#Imperial Relief Effort NPCs|Imperial Relief Effort NPC]] to learn of an impending attack.&lt;br /&gt;

Heading to the specified zone, locate the Suspicious Flag at the following locations:&lt;br /&gt;
* [[Buburimu Peninsula]] (K-7)&lt;br /&gt;
* [[East Ronfaure]] (J-9)&lt;br /&gt;
* [[West Ronfaure]] (I-9)&lt;br /&gt;
* [[East Sarutabaruta]] (K-6)&lt;br /&gt;
* [[West Sarutabaruta]] (E-6)&lt;br /&gt;
* [[North Gustaberg]] (I-7)&lt;br /&gt;
* [[South Gustaberg]] (???)&lt;br /&gt;

On interacting with the Suspicious Flag, the player who turned in the Scouting Reports will receive the following warning:&lt;br /&gt;

Upon touching the Suspicious Flag a second time, an unclaimable [[Notorious Monster]] matching the tribe of the Scouting Reports that were turned in will spawn: Gurfurlur (Trolls), Gulool Ja Ja (Mamool Ja), or Medusa (Lamia). This will trigger a server-wide message from the NM, announcing it&#039;s appearance and the zone for everyone.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Strategies====&lt;br /&gt;
Throughout the fight, the NM will spawn &amp;quot;adds&amp;quot; based on two conditions:&lt;br /&gt;
* &#039;&#039;&#039;Beastmen&#039;&#039;&#039; mobs every two minutes&lt;br /&gt;
* &#039;&#039;&#039;Non-Beastmen&#039;&#039;&#039; mobs at every 5% of the boss&#039; HP&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While clearing all enemies is critical to avoid being overwhelmed, Beastmen enemies do not grant [[Imperial Standing]], as they are theoretically endless. Non-Beastmen enemies, on the other hand, grant 5 IS to any player that tagged them (up to a limit of 250 IS).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A good strategy throughout the fight is to pull the Beastmen mobs away from the primary tank when they appear to avoid AOE damage from &#039;&#039;-aga&#039;&#039; spells and status ailments. Once the NM is close to reaching one of its 5% thresholds, target the NM and prepare a &#039;&#039;-aga&#039;&#039; spell (preferably not a damage-over-time spells, such as [[Diaga]] or [[Poisonga]]) to tag each of them, and lure them away from the tank.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Keep a close watch on Beastmen enemies, as they can still use their two-hour abilities, and [[Silence]] casters whenever possible.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=====Troll=====&lt;br /&gt;
The boss can raise a magic shield that converts magic damage taken into HP.&lt;br /&gt;
Stop using offensive magic while the shield is active.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=====Lamia=====&lt;br /&gt;
The boss has multiple Petrify attacks. Be prepared to remove Petrification quickly.&lt;br /&gt;
Adds can inflict Curse, so keep Curse-removal spells or items ready.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=====Mamool Ja=====&lt;br /&gt;
Boss will do a [[Mijin Gakure]] every 5 minutes.&lt;br /&gt;
Zenin adds are Ninjas and can use [[Mijin Gakure]].&lt;br /&gt;
Pull the Zenin away from the boss and defeat them elsewhere.&lt;br /&gt;
Dedicated groups should handle the Zenin whenever possible.&lt;br /&gt;

====Rewards====&lt;br /&gt;
All players that tag the Notorious Monster will receive &#039;&#039;&#039;125 Imperial Standing&#039;&#039;&#039; and a &#039;&#039;&#039;Box of Stolen Supplies&#039;&#039;&#039;.&lt;br /&gt;

*The first objective is for you to climb a specific tower of [[The Garden of Ru&#039;Hmet]], which are located in the five points of the map. Each tower corresponds to a specific [[race]].&lt;br /&gt;
*This can be done solo, or with your party, but each person will need to get to the top of their race&#039;s tower.&lt;br /&gt;
*A spinning [[Aw&#039;zdei]] at the long hallway to each tower spins in the direction of the fastest way to the first elevator. &lt;br /&gt;
*In each of the larger rooms are an alcove with another [[Aw&#039;zdei]]. You can make your way around it twice or [[sleep]] it and run to the elevator. &lt;br /&gt;
*There are two more floors of enemies in the towers. The elevators going up alternate sides. If the first elevator was on the east side, for example, the second will be on the west, and the third on the east again.&lt;br /&gt;
:*[[Flee]] makes this part easier; run about halfway around, then [[Flee]] to the elevator so you get there well ahead of any aggro and teleport away.&lt;br /&gt;
:* Another technique on the 3rd floor is have a paladin or someone run right through the center. Then sleepga them all at the end and just zone them up.&lt;br /&gt;
*The fourth floor has no enemies. Run in and check the Ebon Panel in the center of the room. Any race can check it in any tower to get the first cutscene. After that cutscene, people of the right race in the right tower check it again for a second cutscene, a key item and a new title, Warrior of the Crystal. &lt;br /&gt;
*Climb towers until everyone has the required key item.  &lt;br /&gt;
* The key items are race specific. They are:&lt;br /&gt;

*Once your tower is complete, you need to progress up the central area of [[The Garden of Ru&#039;Hmet]] (the green dot marks the elevator you want to reach).&lt;br /&gt;

*In each direction off the central elevator are spinning [[Qn&#039;zdei]] pots in groups of four.  When they aggro you and move off their starting positions, the door at the far end of the room slams shut and won’t open until they return to their starting positions. These [[Qn&#039;zdei]] are totally immune to [[Sleep]] and [[Lullaby]].&lt;br /&gt;
*The east and west access paths have a very fast spinning [[Qn&#039;zdei]] in them, which makes getting by next to impossible. The North access path is slightly easier, although harder to get to.&lt;br /&gt;
*You can make your way around the the spinning [[Qn&#039;zdei]], fight them, or run past them and reraise.&lt;br /&gt;
:*If you walk down one side of the room, in effect you only need to make your way around two of them.  The left side seems easier.&lt;br /&gt;
*Once in the elevator room, step onto the platform and choose to ascend.&lt;br /&gt;
*The BC is on the floor above you but the path upward is closed.  The nearby [[Quasilumin]] will explain that you need to get two [[Key Item|key item]]s ([[Brand of Dawn]] and [[Brand of Twilight]]) to access the third floor.&lt;br /&gt;
*The [[Brand of Twilight]] is to the south and the [[Brand of Dawn]] is to the north. &lt;br /&gt;
*See the map to the right for recommended path to the brands.&lt;br /&gt;
*The pink dots are warps which count as a zone so aggro enemies will leave you alone if you warp.&lt;br /&gt;
*Obtain the two brands (along with two cutscenes). (Do not escape or you will need to run past the 4 spinning Qn&#039;zdei again)&lt;br /&gt;

=== Part 3 ===&lt;br /&gt;
*Head back to the central elevator and ascend to the top floor of [[The Garden of Ru&#039;Hmet]].  Check the Particle Gate for a cutscene and enter the battlefield when you’re ready.&lt;br /&gt;
;Ix’zdei Battle&lt;br /&gt;
*The BC is against four [[Ix&#039;zdei]] NMs. &lt;br /&gt;
*When you warp into the “BC” you’ll be at the north end of the room, facing south at the pots. This means that if you want to run away from the battle, you have to cross the room and choose the southern door to leave. The door at the north won’t let you leave.&lt;br /&gt;
*The two larger, closer  [[Ix&#039;zdei]]s are RDMs (with ~7000 HP) and the two smaller, farther ones are BLMs (with ~6250 HP). All of them are immune to silence and are heavily resistant to sleep.&lt;br /&gt;
*The black mages are the more dangerous, having tier-3 aga spells, tier-4 single-target spells, and ancient magic. Target one of them first and give it your all.&lt;br /&gt;
*[[Sleepga]] with [[Elemental Seal]] works.&lt;br /&gt;
*When a pot gets low on life it may attempt to flee to its starting pedestal. If it sits there for a mere few seconds, it will regenerate to full HP. [[Stun]] or use a [[weapon skill]] when this is attempted.&lt;br /&gt;
*&amp;lt;s&amp;gt;If/when you are about to get KO&#039;d, try to wipe at the door at the southern end of the room near the BLM pots. Wait for the pots to go back to their starting spots (they only regen life if they flee in battle, so they won’t be healing), reraise up, rest to full, and continue to kill.&amp;lt;/s&amp;gt; On Eden this is not true, the pots will not return to their starting spots after a wipe and they WILL quickly regen to full HP.&lt;br /&gt;
*Once you beat the pots, cross the empty room and check the Luminous Convergence for a cutscene.&lt;br /&gt;
*Every &#039;&#039;living&#039;&#039; party member will receive 1000 [[Experience Points]] or [[Limit Points]] upon winning. (Only once per day)&lt;br /&gt;
;Strategy tips&lt;br /&gt;
:* You can&#039;t build [[TP]] on mobs in the garden before going into the battle anymore since March 2007&#039;s update. Also you lose buffs after entering the fight.&lt;br /&gt;
:* Keep [[reraise]] up at all times.  [[RDM]] pots can [[dispel]] it. In addition, the best method to counter this is to put up as many &#039;&#039;dummy buffs&#039;&#039; ([[Stoneskin]], [[Blink]], [[Aquaveil]], [[Phalanx]], [[Bar Spell]], [[Enspell]], etc.) as possible, as this can largely lower the chances of [[Reraise]] being [[dispel]]ed. &lt;br /&gt;
:* [[Sleepga]] the pots right off the bat. &lt;br /&gt;
:* Black magic is very powerful against the pots.&lt;br /&gt;
:* Skill chains are effective damage, too. Two two-step level 3 chains or one three step level 3 chain will take a BLM pot at least to half HP. A [[SAM]] can be effective for opening up multiple level 3 skill chains quickly.&lt;br /&gt;
:* Do everything possible to kill the two small BLM pots before wiping.&lt;br /&gt;
:* RDM and BLM in party can stagger [[Elemental Seal]] [[Sleepga II]], [[Elemental Seal]] [[Sleepga]] to keep pots asleep long enough to kill both BLM and possibly a RDM(leaving you with only one pot to kill).&lt;br /&gt;
:* RDM can kite a pot back and forth across the zone after sleeps wear off with [[Gravity]], [[Stoneskin]], and [[Blink]].  RDM might need to [[Dispel]], [[Sleep]], or [[Blind]] to keep hate off the other sleeper in your party.&lt;br /&gt;
:* Fight and wipe at the far door of the room.&lt;br /&gt;
:* [[Stun]] and hit hard any pot that flees from the tank and attempts to return to its starting position.&lt;br /&gt;
:* Be ready to [[dispel]] the pots and remove a lot of status effects from party members, including [[silence]], [[paralyze]], and [[petrify]].&lt;br /&gt;
:* [[Echo Drops]] are necessary for anyone that uses spells.  [[Antidote]]s are also useful.&lt;br /&gt;
:* [[Utsusemi]] blocks most of the pots&#039; TP attacks, and thus the status effects they inflict.  Most are [[AoE]], but some are only cone, so keep them facing away from your mages.&lt;br /&gt;
:* [[Stun]] Optic Induration if you can, it will usually one-shot everyone in front of the pot.  It is used when pots have no rings or bars out, and there is a long charging animation (that includes a puff of fire) before the &amp;quot;readies&amp;quot; message in the log.&lt;br /&gt;
:*&amp;lt;s&amp;gt;The Zdeis will not regen health after a wipe, so keep fighting until you are KO&#039;d. 20% taken off of a Zdei before a wipe is 20% you won&#039;t have to do after recovery.&amp;lt;/s&amp;gt; On Eden this is not true, the pots will not return to their starting spots after a wipe and they WILL quickly regen to full HP.&lt;br /&gt;

*Watch for the [[Quasilumin]] NPCs, if you talk to each one of them you will receive information on [[Al&#039;Taieu]], as well as the map after you talk to them all.&lt;br /&gt;
:*You have to talk &#039;&#039;twice&#039;&#039; to the last to get the map.&lt;br /&gt;
*Head to a large bridge leading up to a Crystalline Field  {{Location|Al&#039;Taieu|H-11}} Click on the Crystalline Field for a cutscene. &lt;br /&gt;
:*Note that the Auroral Updraft ({{Location|Al&#039;Taieu|H-12}} - looks like a red pillar of light) will take you back to the [[Sealion&#039;s Den]]. [[Sueleen]] in the [[Sealion&#039;s Den]] will send you back to [[Al&#039;Taieu]]. &lt;br /&gt;
*After the cutscene you need to visit three Rubious Crystals. The first crystal is located at a small tower south of the bridge with the Crystalline Field. Checking each crystal will spawn three [[Ru&#039;aern]] NMs, each with their own job and appropriate 2-hours.&lt;br /&gt;
:*The [[Ru&#039;aern]]s can be slept with [[Elemental Seal]], but are otherwise quite resistant to [[Lullaby]].&lt;br /&gt;
:*They also seem resistant to [[Silence]] without [[Elemental Seal]].&lt;br /&gt;
:*They do not [[Reraise]] as normal [[:category:Aern|Aern]] do.&lt;br /&gt;
:*A [[Thief]] can pop the [[Ru&#039;aern]]s and kite two of them while the party kills the first one.&lt;br /&gt;
:*A solid [[Darkness]] chain can take down an Aern quickly.&lt;br /&gt;

*Note that north of each of the last two Rubious Crystal towers is another Auroral Updraft which takes you back to the Auroral Updraft that leads out of [[Al&#039;Taieu]].  Using these updrafts, while you don’t leave the zone, will cause aggro mobs to drop you as a target.&lt;br /&gt;
*Once you visit all three towers and get the three cutscenes there, head back to the Crystalline Field {{Location|Al&#039;Taieu|H-11}} and zone into the [[Grand Palace of Hu&#039;Xzoi]].&lt;br /&gt;
*Head forward and check the Gate of the Gods {{Location|Grand Palace of Hu&#039;Xzoi|map = Map 3|H-8}} for a final cutscene and your reward.&lt;br /&gt;

A Skillchain is created by successfully performing Weapon Skills in the correct order. The order of [[Weapon Skills]] is determined by the attributes of the [[Weapon Skill]] (see [[:Category:Skillchains#Weapon Skill Attributes]] below). When a [[Weapon Skill]] is performed and successfully connects with the target, the target resonates with the Weapon Skill Attributes of the used Weapon Skill for approximately 5 seconds. If the target is then hit with a Weapon Skill Attribute which chains with the resonating Weapon Skill Attributes, a Skillchain is formed. When performing the necessary Weapon Skill there is a window of 5 seconds starting 1 second after the previous [[Weapon Skill]] in which the following Weapon Skill can be performed. If the following Weapon Skill is performed too soon or too late the [[Skillchain]] will not be formed. If a Weapon Skill is performed which does not chain with the Weapon Skill Attributes the target is resonating with, the resonating Weapon Skill Attributes are replaced by those of the performed Weapon Skill. A Skillchain in its simplest form comprises of two Weapon Skills performed one after the other to generate the required Skillchain. The first Weapon Skill causes the target to resonate with the attributes of the Weapon Skill. The second Weapon Skill&#039;s attributes interact with the ones resonating on the target to produce the Skillchain. Beyond this basic concept, the idea of Weapon Skill attributes can be applied to the Skillchain itself. Each Skillchain causes the target to resonate with the same attributes as the Skillchain. This means that a &#039;&#039;&#039;third&#039;&#039;&#039; Weapon Skill can follow the initial two, acting on the Skillchain they produced. For example, a [[Monk]] can use [[Spinning Attack]] to make the target resonate with Liquefaction and Impaction. A second Monk follows this attack with Howling Fist, creating a Fusion Skillchain. A [[Dark Knight]] then continues this by using [[Spinning Slash]] to create a Light Skillchain. Linking Skillchains increases their potential damage. The damage potential is based off the closing Weapon Skill. Damage increases with the number of Skillchains performed in succession as follows: &lt;br /&gt;

==Using a Skillchain Chart==&lt;br /&gt;

When presented with a party using various weapons, it is often easiest to examine a Skillchain Chart to determine which Skillchains are available to use. A Skillchain Chart presents Skillchains as a map of which Weapon Skills lead to which effect. By examining the available Weapon Skills and plotting a route across the map, Skillchains can be easily created and linked together. Say there are two, one-handed sword wielders, and they both have [[Fast Blade]] and [[Burning Blade]]. Now find the [[Weapon Skill]] on the Skillchain Chart. [[Burning Blade]] is in the [[Fire (Element)|Fire]] section; and [[Fast Blade]] is in the [[Earth]] section. There is one arrow connecting them. Notice that the arrow is double ended. This means that you can start in the Earth section and go to the Fire section, or you may start in the Fire section and go to the Earth section. Both ways will result in a [[:Category:Skillchains|Skillchain]]. If you start in Fire section and go to Earth you get an Earth [[Scission]] Skillchain. Going the other way (Earth first followed by Fire) you get a Fire [[Liquefaction]] Skillchain. You will notice that many weapon skills have 2 or more attributes associated with them. The attributes are listed by priority using &amp;quot;A,&amp;quot; &amp;quot;B,&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;C&amp;quot; notation, where &amp;quot;A&amp;quot; is the highest and &amp;quot;C&amp;quot; is the lowest. If a situation arises where a Skillchain can be formed using both &amp;quot;A&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;B&amp;quot; attributes, a Skillchain will be formed using the &amp;quot;A&amp;quot; attribute. The attribute with highest priority is always chosen when multiple Skillchain possibilities are presented.&lt;br /&gt;

== Walkthrough ==&lt;br /&gt;
*Talk to [[Justinius]] at {{Position|Tavnazian Safehold|map=Map 2|J-6}} of the upper level in [[Tavnazian Safehold]] for a cutscene to start the quest and receive the {{KeyItem}}[[Monarch Linn Patrol Permit]]. This is required for all players in order to enter the battlefield and is lost upon entry.&lt;br /&gt;
*Travel to [[Monarch Linn]] through either [[Riverne - Site A01]] or [[Riverne - Site B01]].&lt;br /&gt;
**For B01 you will require 1 [[Giant Scale]] and for A01 you will require 2 to pass through the unstable displacements.&lt;br /&gt;
*After the battle, return to [[Tavnazian Safehold]] and talk with [[Justinius]] to complete the quest, and receive your reward for success.&lt;br /&gt;
**Success or failure, the battle can be repeated after the next conquest tally.&lt;br /&gt;

=== The Battle ===&lt;br /&gt;
*The [[battlefield]] has a 30 minute time limit, and a maximum of 18 characters are allowed to enter.&lt;br /&gt;
*There is no [[Level Restriction]] so buffs including [[TP]] do not wear off upon entering and experience points will be lost from a knock out.&lt;br /&gt;
*One [[Mammet-800]] is in the battlefield at first. When it is approached, the additional Mammets spawn, depending on the number of adventurers in the fight.&lt;br /&gt;
:*One Mammet will be fought for every two characters: 1 Mammet for 1-2 characters, 2 Mammets for 3-4 characters, etc.&lt;br /&gt;
*The Mammets are very similar to the ones encountered during [[Promathia Mission 2-5|Promathia Mission 2-5: Ancient Vows]] and [[Promathia Mission 6-4|Promathia Mission 6-4: One to be Feared]], just scaled up in difficulty. &lt;br /&gt;
*They have approximately 3500HP.&lt;br /&gt;
*They are immune to [[Sleep]], [[Lullaby]], and [[Gravity]], but susceptible to [[Bind]] and [[Silence]].&lt;br /&gt;
:*They do build resistance to [[Bind]], so it will be difficult to kite indefinitely if [[Bind]] is your only defense.&lt;br /&gt;
*Depending of the form, they can use abilities that allow them to absorb damage from physical or magical damage.&lt;br /&gt;
:*When in the hand-to-hand form, they will use [[Transmogrification]] that absorbs physical damage.&lt;br /&gt;
:*When in the staff form, they will use [[Mind Wall]] that absorbs magic damage.&lt;br /&gt;
