*Lottery Spawn from one of the two possible Tundra Tigers around the tower at (F-7). Window opens one hour after Nue's last death, but there is no time limit after which a lottery spawn is guaranteed to appear. It is always up to chance.
**The other tiger is a shared pop with a Living Statue, and is not the placeholder for Nue.
*The Tundra Tiger have an approximate 5 minute respawn timer.
*Soloable by level 55 for most jobs. testimonials
*The Nue Fang is one of three rare/ex items required for the Brown Belt quest, "Fistful of Fury".
*Placeholder IDs are 969 and 970.
*Repop Window between 60-120 minutes.
*Can take up to 3.5hrs to pop.
Historical Background
The nue is a creature from Japanese folklore which has the body of a tanuki (raccoon dog), the legs of a tiger, the head of a monkey and a snake in place of the tail. It could also transform into a black cloud and fly around. They tend to be associated with misfortune and illness. The nue is similar to the chimera from Greek mythology.

Walkthrough
Tavnazian Safehold
* Wait one earth minute and talk with Enaremand for a cutscene.
*Talk to Chemioue (Next to Justinius) in Tavnazian Safehold for another cutscene. Talk to her a second time if she doesn't talk about the desired subject
*Go to Phomiuna Aqueducts, find a Wooden Ladder at on the second map, and select the ladder for a cutscene with Fardimant X Boncourge.
*Go to Misareaux Coast and select the ??? at near the end of the river for the KeyItem Mire Incense.
*Go to the base of the waterfall at in Misareaux Coast and select the ??? for a cutscene.
*After every member of your party has viewed the cutscene, have one party member select the ??? again to spawn the mannequin NM Alsha. (This party member will have hate when the NM spawns).

The Battle
*Alsha will cast Silence, Paralyze, and various damage spells, but will occasionally also Cure III you.
*You'll receive a few messages in combat as Alsha loses HP. Once she is reduced to around 20%, the message will show up that "Large drops of oil begin pouring from the eyes on the mannequin" (this is the third message), and Alsha will repeatedly cast Fire II on herself until she dies.
*You or anyone in your party must deal the final blow to defeat her; if she kills herself, you will have to rezone and try to kill her again.

After the fight
*Once Alsha is defeated, each member of your party can select the ??? again for a cutscene in which they obtain the KeyItem Better Humes and Mannequins and complete the quest.
Return to Mhaura and talk to Fyi Chalmwoh to receive your reward.
Notes
*Once the quest is completed, Fyi Chalmwoh will change the pose of any mannequin you own as often as you'd like, for 200 gil each time.
Eggbert’s Announcement (click to expand)
{{Collapsible |<poem>
Ahem, shell we begin @Adventurers? Spring is finally here and the fowl weather is gone! But enough with poultry pleasantries, let's crack on. I'm eggs‑tremely eggs‑ited, eggs‑eptionally delighted, to announce... Egg Hunt Egg‑stravaganza! Wait. What year is it? Oh time flies! Kupo~

The team is scrambling to cook up 1.1, we've been positively fried! I bet you've been perched on the edge of your seats! Knowing delays wouldn't go over‑easy, Loxley hatched a plan to swoop in and lay down this egg‑stra special shellabration! We hope this will quail any rustled feathers and stop you boiling over. Okay, no more flapping, what the flock is this all about? Let me take you under my wing and eggs‑plain...

Every day at the crack of dawn, when the sun beaks over the Horizon and the Chocobo crows... Wait, that's not it. Just to be nice and eggs‑actly precise... at 0:00 O'cluck each day, my friends will offer you a freshly laid egg. Each egg has a letter printed underneath (Don't ask). Peck out the first three letters of your name and eggs‑change them with us Moogles for a prize! Once you've completed the "First 3", we'll let you try other combinations. This just scratches the surface. Word from the bird's nest is there are egg‑stra secret combos this year. See if you can find them!

So... don't stay kuupo~ed up! Leave the roost, come out of your shell and see if this event tickles your feathers by hunting down Moogles in the following locations across Vana'diel:

• (J‑9) Southern San d'Oria
• (D‑8) Northern San d'Oria
• (I‑9) Bastok Mines
• (G‑8) Bastok Markets
• (K‑10) Windurst Woods
• (F‑5) Windurst Waters

That's all yolks. Kupo~ — Eggbert

Distances within Vana'diel are measured in terms of units of distance called "Yalms" (roughly analogous to yards), commonly indicated with a prime (') symbol.

The large-scale unit of measure used in Vana'diel is known as "Malms", which are roughly analogous to miles.
Smaller scale units of measure found in Vana'diel are "Ilms" (analogous to inches) and "Fulms" (analogous to feet).

Precise distances are only accessible through third-party programs, but FFXI provides various clues for judging distance without them:

Maximum Melee and Melee Weapon Skill ranges are dependent on the monsters they're targeting. Weapon Skill range is always 1' longer than melee range.

Positioning
Because of the specific ranges of each ability, many of the more difficult battles in the game require very delicate positioning of players. In addition to the various AoE attacks, there are also Cone Attack which are directional in nature.

To the right is a scale diagram of a tank and a monster. Around the monster are three circles. The inner circle is the 10' radius, the middle is 15', outer is 20'. These are the three most common ranges for AoE attacks. Around the tank is one circle with radius of 20.8' which is the maximum range for Cure. As you can see, if the monster has both Cone Attack as well as 20' AoE attacks, there is only a very small area in which healers can stand (the green area) which allows them to avoid splash damage and still heal the tank.
<br clear=all>

Distance and Ranged Attack
The accuracy and damage of Ranged Attacks varies with the distance from the enemy. For damage, each weapon type has a distinct "sweet spot" for maximum damage.

*The sweet spot also varies with the size of the enemy; it will be farther away if the enemy is larger.
*These values were calculated before the Ranged Attack "un-nerf" patch.
