Mog Lockers
Mog Lockers are one of the special “benefits” of being an employee of the mercenary company Salaheem’s Sentinels.

This private locker is initially provided free of charge, and its contents are managed by a familiar moogle-based system. Paying an expansion fee will grant you access to additional space for storing items.

Although the Mog Locker is initially free, using this service even once will require you to keep up periodic “lease” payments in order to retain access to your stored items. A convenient system for overburdened adventurers but in the words of President Naja Salaheem, “A coin paid out from the company coffers will find its way back eventually.”

Appraisers
Some people in Vana'diel make their living as Appraisers, helping merchants and mercenaries determine the type of items they have picked up during their travels in Aht Urhgan. The Near East's powerful ocean winds, rust, or even mere age can make an item unrecognizable to the amateur eye. The finder may even simply lack the knowledge to make an accurate judgment and find himself unsure of how to use the newly discovered good. In such cases, appraisers use their experience and keen senses to ascertain what the item really is. Qiqirn can use their keen noses to sniff out information about an item, and many make excellent appraisers. The only drawback to using a Qiqirn appraiser is that they might be a little difficult to understand due to their odd accents...

Assaults
"Assault" means to make a sudden attack on a fortified area. Your goal in Assault is to fight through an enemy stronghold with a small, elite unit of mercenaries.

In order to participate, you must first go to the Commissions Agency, where you can view a list of available tasks. Choose any task that interests you, and gather the number of people necessary to finish the operation. Then, enter the enemy's stronghold and complete your tasks.

If you manage to complete the Assault and make it back alive, the Empire of Aht Urhgan will reward you with fame and an appropriate reward.

Assault can only be undertaken by small, select groups. In exchange, the Imperial Army will evacuate any non-participants so that you can fully concentrate on the operation. On the other hand, no one will be around to help if you find yourself in trouble, so you must always be on guard.

Besieged
“Besieged” is a form of defensive battle that takes place when enemy forces breach the gates of Al Zahbi. The Imperial army declares martial law, and the city is enveloped in conflict.

After martial law is declared, anyone in the area who can use a weapon is required to join the Imperial Army in combat and take charge of Al Zahbi's defense. However, repeated beastman attacks have nearly destroyed the city's fortifications, transforming the majority of these defensive battles into aggressive clashes on the streets themselves.

Al Zahbi's enemies are after one thing--the “Astral Candescence” located in the Hall of Binding. The fate of Aht Urhgan and the beastmen ride on this single item, which allegedly draws upon the infinite energy of the Astral Plane.

Five “Serpent Generals” hold the keys to the Hall of Binding. They must be protected at all costs while driving the beastmen from the city. The safety of the townspeople and the future of Al Zahbi rest in the hands of the adventurers!

Qbpipo0: /* Buying */

A player can sell any tradeable item out of their bazaar by setting the price per item. Goods are sold individually, not by the stack, so price your items accordingly.

This is the icon that shows up next to a persons name when their bazaar is available - a little brown sack. It may not always be visible due to the player's other icon statuses (See: Player Icon Priority).

Buying
*To make a purchase out of someone's bazaar, /check the player and select the option to view their bazaar.
*All purchases are final, so buy with caution.
*It is often a good idea to check the Auction House or NPC Merchant prices for that item before buying out of a bazaar.
*Bazaar taxes are in effect on Horizon with a 10% fee levied on all purchases made. The fees are payable by the buyer and is in effect in "City" zones, ie, San d'Oria, Jeuno etc.

Selling
To sell your items in your bazaar, go to the second page of your main menu and choose the "Bazaar" option.

You can choose to either "Sell Item", or edit your "Bazaar Comment". This comment is seen when others /check you. A number of people like to put sales comments there, although you can put any comment there.

If you choose "Sell Items" it will bring up a list of all the items in your Inventory. Items that you can't bazaar are greyed out. Choose the item you want to sell and enter a sell price. If you have a stackable item, the price you enter will be how much one of the items will cost.

Example: You have 8 Fire Crystals and you enter a price of 100 gil. Someone checks your bazaar and can buy up to 8 of your Fire Crystals at 100 gil each.

If you set a stack of items for sale and you acquire additional items, those additional items will not be added to the stack of items for sale. For example, if you set 6 Fire Crystals for sale while in the field, then acquire a seventh, you will still only have 6 Fire Crystals for sale.

When you're editing your bazaar, it becomes unavailable to other players. If you are muling you may want to make sure that your bazaar icon is visible (See: Player Icon Priority)
Aspidochelone's Shell Mechanics:

*Aspidochelone now alternates between two states based on a 2,000 health threshold: inside and outside of its shell.
*In-Shell State: When Aspidochelone retreats into its shell, it gains a significant regeneration effect.
*To force Aspidochelone out of its shell, players must reduce its health by at least 2,000 points below the threshold it had when it entered the shell, counteracting any regeneration during this period.
*Failure to force Aspidochelone out results in it automatically emerging after a set period or after a certain amount of regeneration (exact mechanics are currently debated).
*Out-of-Shell State: Inflicting 2,000 damage to Aspidochelone when it's out of its shell will force it back in.
*It's possible to bypass a shell phase entirely with sufficient damage in a single attack. For instance, if Aspidochelone is 500 points from retreating, a combined skillchain and magic burst dealing 3,500 damage might force it into and out of its shell in quick succession.
Strategic Considerations:

Two main strategies have emerged:
*High Damage Approach: Aim for a 4,000 damage output in a single attack to surpass the next shell phase threshold, minimizing the health Aspidochelone regenerates.

*Timed Skillchain/Magic Burst (SC/MB): Execute a SC/MB for at least 2,000 damage just as Aspidochelone retreats into its shell to quickly force it back out.

*Failing to force Aspidochelone out of its shell more than a few times can be particularly punishing, as it brings the encounter closer to the 1-hour enrage timer.
Developer Insights:

*The server checks every 400 milliseconds to determine if a phase change should be initiated.
This means damage above the 2,000-point threshold may not roll over into the next phase, potentially complicating players' strategies.
Historical Background
In Medieval folklore and bestiaries, the Aspidochelone (also called the Asp-Turtle) was a gigantic combination of an asp and a turtle that lived in the ocean. It was so large, sailors would mistake it for an island. The Aspidochelone even had trees and bushes growing on its shell. The sailors would often drown when the turtle dived back in the ocean. Usually, this occurred when the sailors started a campfire on its back. It might have originated with reports of an Irish monk who traveled on the ocean or the stories about Sindbad's voyages, one of which involved Sindbad and his crew debarking on a small island, lighting some fires for cooking, the island shaking and diving beneath the waves, taking some of Sindbad's crew to watery graves and leading to Sindbad being adrift on the sea alone. He reported a creature which looked like an island, but went beneath the waves. Most medieval drawings depicted it as a large fish instead of the asp-turtle mix. Its name is derived from the Greek words "aspido" + "chelone", which mean "shield" and "turtle". The title it gives, Aspidochelone Sinker, derives from its island nature, meaning to slay the beast is to cause it (the "island") to sink.

Each egg has a letter printed underneath (Don't ask). Peck out the first three letters of your name and eggs-change them with us Moogles for a prize! Once you've completed the "First three", we'll let you try other combinations. This just scratches the surface. Leave the roost, come out of your shell and see if this event tickles your feathers by hunting down Moogles in the following locations across Vana'diel: (J-9) Southern San d'Oria (D-8) Northern San d'Oria (I-9) Bastok Mines (G-8) Bastok Markets (K-10) Windurst Woods (F-5) Windurst Waters That's all yolks. Kupo~ Eggbert
</poem>
How to Play
<poem>Start by collecting Initial Eggs, each inscribed with a letter.

The easiest way to do this is by speaking to one of the festival moogles in each area where the event is held, but you can only collect one egg each day using this method. If you are in a party when you speak with the moogle, you will have the opportunity to select the type of egg you want based on the initials of your party's other members.

You can collect even more initial eggs by trading other types of eggs you may have on hand to any of the moogles in the three nations. Just remember that these egg exchanges are also limited to one per day (per nation). How many initial eggs you receive varies depending on the quantities and varieties of eggs you trade, so if you are not happy with what you get once, keep trying!

Once you've collected enough eggs, start exchanging with other adventurers and try making a "combination." The most basic one is called a "First 3." When you have the three initial eggs necessary for this combo, trade them to one of the moogles and collect your prize!

After a "First 3," try building an "Initial Straight 8" or a "7 of a Kind." The more you make, the more presents you'll take home!

Don't forget that you'll have to trade in a "First 3" before you can trade in any other combos. Think of it as a sort of preliminary test! Each Nation seems to have it's own "First 3" to trade at first glance Verification, keep that in mind if you like to travel to buy eggs from Bazaar's that you will only be able to trade other combos at the Nation you traded the "First 3" or you would need to trade another "First 3" for that Nation Moogle which would be a waste unless you just want to stock up on Chocobo Tickets

And for those of you who are looking for a real challenge, try discovering different, more exotic combinations. The moogles are usually reluctant to give out any of their classified information, but maybe if you are persistent enough, one will let you in on a secret or two! Make it a point to talk to them as often as possible!

Please note that all "new adventurers" will be required to wait one Vana'diel day before being eligible to receive initial eggs.
</poem>

Festival Duration
*The Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza started in April, 2025, and will last until regular maintenance later in the month.

Event Walkthrough
Collecting Eggs
*You may collect one free event egg from the Moogle per Vana'diel day.
*Usually the letter you receive is random. However, if you are partied with one or more other people, you will be able to choose your letter from among the first letters of each party members' name. They must be in the same zone.

You may collect bonus eggs per day by trading regular eggs to the Moogle:
*You may get one bonus event egg randomly by trading any of the following to the Moogle:
**12 x Bird Eggs
**12 x Soft-Boiled Eggs
**6 x Lizard Eggs
**1 x Colored Egg

*You may get two bonus event eggs (same letters) by trading the following:
**1 x Party Egg (HQ of colored egg)

* You may get three bonus event eggs (different letters) by trading the following:
** 1 x Lucky Egg

Rewards
Before getting any of the reward eggs for the event, you must first complete the "First Three."

First Three
*The "First Three" is the first three letters of your name.
*Thus, if your name was Moogle, you would trade an 'M', an 'O' and an 'O' to complete the "First Three."

Reward - 1st Time: Egg Helm
Chocobo Tickets or a colored drop
Repeatable - Yes

Once you have completed the "First Three," you may do any of the following combinations.

Seven of a Kind
*"Seven of a Kind" is seven eggs of the exact same letter.
*Thus, any seven eggs of the exact same letter ("A"x7...."Z"x7) are acceptable.

Reward - Fortune Egg
Repeatable - No, if you currently already have a Fortune Egg.

Initial Straight Eight
*"Initial Straight Eight" is eight consecutive letters of the alphabet starting with the first letter of your name.
*Thus, if your name was Moogle, you would need an 'M', 'N', 'O', 'P', 'Q', 'R', 'S' and 'T'.
*If you name starts with "Y", you would need 'Y', 'Z', 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D','E' and 'F'
Reward - Happy Egg
Repeatable - No, if you currently already have a Happy Egg.

National Eggs
*There are three different furniture eggs, one representing each nation. These may be place in your Mog House layout.
*To obtain these eggs, trade eggs corresponding to the first five letters of a region that is currently controlled by the nation whose egg you want.
*Thus, if you want the egg representing Bastok, and Bastok currently controls the Gustaberg region, you would need to trade the letters 'G', 'U', 'S', 'T' and 'A'.
*Jeweled (Jeuno) Egg: Was able to obtain on the "second" trade of any region of the same nation (I.E. I did a sandy region and obtained Wing Egg, forgot I did that one already and traded another region owned by sandy and obtained Jeweled Egg - RedBAEren
It's possible it could be any Nation owned Region as long as it's the second trade of that nation and you own that nation egg already (shown on spreadsheet)

Reward
*Wing Egg (San d'Oria) - Left
*Lamp Egg (Bastok) - Center
*Flower Egg (Windurst) - Right
*Jeweled Egg (Jeuno) - Bottom

Repeatable - Yes, as long as you do not have all three furniture eggs yet.

Orphic Egg
*The Orphic Egg is obtained by trading letters corresponding to the element for the day.
**Fire will work on Firesday.
**Air will work on Windsday.
**Light will work on Lightsday.
**Thunder will work on Lightningday.
**Dark will work on Darksday.
**Water will work on Watersday.

Reward - Orphic Egg
Repeatable - No, if you currently already have the Orphic Egg.

Other Rewards
*Trading the first five letters for a Beastman controlled region will get you a temporary Beastman Costume (I.E. FAURE for Fauregandi if Beastman controlled for the week).
*Trading the incorrect element for the day (I.E. Light on Windsday) will get you a colored drop that matches the element you traded, unless you already have one, then you will get nothing.

This is the event page for the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza 2025! It has been confirmed that there are some changes from last year. Please add to this page with any of these changes for 2025.

Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza 2025
<poem>Ahem, shell we begin @Adventurers ? Spring is finally here and the fowl weather is gone! But enough with poultry pleasantries, let's crack on. I'm eggs-tremely eggs-ited, eggs-eptionally delighted, to announce... Egg Hunt Egg-stravagaza! Wait. What year is it? Oh time flies! Kupo~ The team is scrambling to cook up 1.1, we've been positively fried! I bet you've been perched on the edge of your seats! Knowing delays wouldn't go over-easy, Loxley hatched a plan to swoop in and lay down this egg-stra special shellabration! We hope this will quail any rustled feathers and stop you boiling over. Okay, no more flapping, what the flock is this all about? Let me take you under my wing and eggs-plain... Every day at the crack of dawn, when the sun beaks over the Horizon and the Chocobo crows... Wait, that's not it. Just to be nice and eggs-actly precise... at 0:00 O'cluck each day, my friends will offer you a freshly laid egg. Each egg has a letter printed underneath (Don't ask). Peck out the first three letters of your name and eggs-change them with us Moogles for a prize! Once you've completed the "First three", we'll let you try other combinations. This just scratches the surface. Word from the bird's nest is there are egg-stra secret combos this year. See if you can find them! So... don't stay kuupo~ed up!
</poem>

</poem>
Event Locations
* Windurst Woods
*

**Ice will work on Iceday.
**Earth will work on Earthsday.

</poem>

Kupo~ Eggbert
</poem>

Collecting Eggs
*You may collect one free event egg from the Moogle per Vana'diel day.

*Flower Egg (Windurst) - Right
*Jeweled Egg (Jeuno) - Bottom

Repeatable - Yes, as long as you do not have all three furniture eggs yet.
