**You are required to be a Paladin for this step and can swap to any job after this step.
*Return to Ailbeche who tells you Giant Shell Bugs can be found in Crawlers' Nest.
*Obtain one or several Giant Shell Bugs. You can buy them on the AH, or follow the steps below.
**From the entrance to Crawler's Nest, use exit A at ().
**On map 2, find the small alcove at (). The ??? is tucked away in the far end. Check it to spawn Dreadbug, which will drop 1-4 Giant Shell Bugs.
*Trade the Giant Shell Bug to Ailbeche to initiate a cutscene in which he'll tell you where you can catch the "big one". You will still have the Giant Shell Bug after the cutscene.
**If you have multiples and you are skilled at fishing up monsters, you can skip this step until after you fish up Odontotyrannus.
*At this point if you're not experienced with fishing it's advised to look over the Fishing page to get an idea on how to know when a monster/NM has bitten the hook, and how to deplete its stamina when it does bite.
**Tip: When you get a bite, do NOT press enter/confirm before depleting all stamina or you will lose the catch and your bait. Do NOT press enter/confirm to let a catch go when you've hooked something other than the NM or you will lose your bait. Wait it out, and the catch will eventually escape and your bait will be preserved.
**Note: Quest Bearer has to do the fishing. Can take multiple Tries.
**To catch Monsters Notification: "Something clamps onto your line ferociously!"
*Obtain a fishing rod "for Big Fish", then head to the small pond on map 2 of Castle Oztroja. Prepare for a fight, and bring a friend or two if necessary.
**From the entrance, go through the Brass Door at () on map 1. To avoid the trapdoor, throw one lever and then quickly move backwards (this doesn't work on Horizon).
**On map 7, use exit I at ().
**Head to (/) on map 2 to find a pool of water with Oozes in it.
*Fish up the NM Odontotyrannus using your fishing rod and Giant Shell Bug. You will lose your bait, and the NM will appear, ready to lay a beatdown on you. Upon victory it will drop Odontotyrannus (Item).
**Note: Odontotyrannus has been nerfed on Horizon. It has about ~2000 HP or less.
Walkthrough
*(Optional) Head to Northern San d'Oria and talk to Chasalvige (Manuscript Room, Cathedral) he will tell you to investigate the port.
*(Optional) Head to Port San d'Oria and talk to Anoki who will say that he hasn't seen anything that you describe.
*Zone into Port Bastok for a cutscene.
*Head to Metalworks and talk to Cid located at Metalworks for a cutscene.
*Zone into the Pso'Xja tower at Beaucedine Glacier for a cutscene.
*This Pso'Xja tower is uncapped. Follow the path forward until you find a stone door, which, when checked, spawns an NM Golem named Nunyunuwi.
:*This NM has approximately 3500 HP, though offset by an innate Auto Regen trait that restores 100 HP per tick. If improperly handled, this effect can draw the battle out indefinitely. As a result, Nunyunuwi is often defeated with as much damage in as short a period as possible. Among the methods known (or theorized to be) effective are:
::*Level 3 Darkness Skillchains at 300% TP
::*Use of Ancient Magic in Magic Bursts, or coupled with layering of DOT effects like Poison II and Bio II
::*Use of high-level SMN Blood Pacts (when melee or additional SMN support is available)
:*This NM is known soloable by some jobs at, or over, Level 74 (RNG, MNK, BLM, RDM, DRG, DRK, SAM). Soloing at slightly lower levels may be possible.
*When Nunyunuwi is defeated, check the door to move past it.
*Check the Stone Door for a cutscene. You will arrive in Promyvion - Vahzl, where you will get another cutscene.
