He resented Raogrimm's relationship with [[Cornelia (Mythril Musketeer)|Cornelia]] and the talekeeper's attempts to establish peaceful relationships with the beastmen. But as [[Ulrich]] attempted the killing strike, [[Cornelia (Mythril Musketeer)|Cornelia]] intercepted the attack and was fatally wounded. [[Ulrich]], horrified at having slain [[Cornelia (Mythril Musketeer)|Cornelia]] instead, fled the scene and left them for dead.

In shock over the betrayal, Raogrimm quickly succumbed to despair, pain, and anger. Guided by the dark influence of the black magicite, he traveled to the dark protocrystal in [[Uleguerand Range]] and made a pact with the [[Odin (NPC)|Dark Divinity]], gaining an Army of Dark Kindred Demons and transforming into the [[Shadow Lord]].}}
