The lessons of maxing profits has lead many of us to reconsider our purchases and economic enterprises to even the most extreme of circumstances put simply as 'npcing items'. This cuts out the middle-man straight to delicious gil profits at the cost of time(of course); the unrealized cost though is A) more gil being added to the total number of gil and B) those items now being consumed by the inescapable void of the npc shop. But who cares about the total number of gil really because that number changes constantly with chocobo rental fees, synthesis material breaks and many other ways to go from 'three commas' to 'two commas' in your gil bank.
