Welcome to the HorizonXI Wiki!

Welcome

Welcome to the player driven wiki for HorizonXI, a level 75 cap FFXI private server. Horizon is an 'Era+' server which is currently based upon the Chains of Promathia era of the game. The server strives to bring players all content available in the current era but with some custom balancing changes, new XP camps etc. Specific changes can be identified on pages via the HorizonXI specific changes symbol.

  • For a full list of the changes, please see the Horizon Changes page.
  • For a full list of content that is outside of our era (OOE), please see the Out of Era page.
  • For useful info, please check out - and add to - the current list of Player Guides.

Editing Guidelines

The wiki is still very much a work in progress and we're very grateful for any additions Horizon players wish to make. In time we hope to be the ONLY wiki our players use but to get there, we ask our editors to follow a few guidelines to ensure our vision becomes reality:

  • Please mark all HorizonXI specific changes with the HorizonXI specific changes symbol.
  • Do NOT add in any content that is out of era. Eventually 'red links' will mean content is unavailable.
  • Adding pages with 'out of era' information is ok as it isn't always practical to remove it. We suggest that you surround text that needs to be hidden with the below formatting. Alternatvely, an 'OOE' tag may be available in the near future.
<!-- text to be hidden goes here! -->

  • If possible, verify info on live for accuracy. If confirmation cannot be gained, please tag information with the Verification Needed tag.
  • We prefer it that 'data-mined' information is shared on the wiki discord before being added, to try and prevent it ruining the 'Play and Find Out' experience. E.g. the hunt for Enlight before the way to obtain it was discovered.
  • For further help with editing, please visit the Horizon wiki discord https://discord.gg/DSatWWBzKH

About the Server

HorizonXI provides its adventurers with a 75-era experience that maintains the spirit of Final Fantasy XI (FFXI) as if SquareEnix had continued to develop the game without ever having raised the level cap above 75. As our name suggests, our primary focus has been to re-create a FFXI experience that ensures horizontal progression for both content and gear. Beginning with our initial launch on December 17th, 2022 with “Chains of Promathia” era content and continuing years into the future, all expansions, including post-75-cap content, will eventually be rebalanced for our forever-75-cap private server.

Additionally, HorizonXI plans to effectively “rewrite the narrative” regarding content that many veteran players consider to be “the beginning of the end” for Final Fantasy XI, namely Wings of the Goddess and Abyssea. As such, HorizonXI will present this content in ways that will rework some of the more negative aspects of these patches and stay true to the spirit of what the level 75 cap era was all about – socializing and group oriented play.
