Automaton

Automatons are customizable pets used by Puppetmasters.

A Puppetmaster controls their automaton with Activate, Deploy, Retrieve, Deactivate, and elemental Maneuvers. Automatons are customized through interchangeable heads, frames, and attachments.

Obtaining an Automaton

A player unlocks their first automaton by completing No Strings Attached, which also rewards an Animator.

The automaton's name is chosen during the unlock quest. See Automaton Names for the available name list.

Requirements

Requirement Purpose
Puppetmaster Required to use an automaton.
Animator Required to command the automaton.
Activate Calls forth the automaton.
Maneuvers Enhance attachment behavior and influence automaton performance.

Heads and Frames

An automaton is made of two main parts: a head and a frame. The head influences behavior and spell use, while the frame determines the automaton's combat style, stats, and weapon skills.

Head / Frame Role Notes
Harlequin Head / Harlequin Frame Balanced starter automaton Initial automaton setup.
Valoredge Head / Valoredge Frame Melee / defensive automaton Focuses on close-range combat.
Sharpshot Head / Sharpshot Frame Ranged automaton Focuses on ranged attacks.
Stormwaker Head / Stormwaker Frame Magic automaton Uses magic and supports caster-style setups.
Soulsoother Head Healing-focused magic head Used with Stormwaker Frame.
Spiritreaver Head Offensive magic head Used with Stormwaker Frame.

See Puppetmaster: Upgrading Your Automaton for head and frame acquisition.

Attachments

Attachments modify automaton behavior and provide offensive, defensive, utility, or magic-related effects.

Attachments must be installed before they can be equipped. Verification Needed

Maneuvers Elemental maneuvers strengthen or activate certain attachment effects.
