| Description | You are to seek out the person sending threatening letters to Senator Alois and eliminate him. First, you must find a diary hidden somewhere in the Palborough Mines and take it to Kagetora of the Tenshodo. |

Walkthrough
- With your job set to ninja level 20+, talk to Romualdo for a cutscene to start the quest.
- Go to the other Cannonry room and talk to Ayame.
- You may get a scene related to the quest Out of the Depths the first time you speak to her.
- You do not have to stay on NIN after starting the quest. The rest can be done on any job.
- Obtain a Palborough Chest Key in the Palborough Mines and open a treasure chest there to obtain the Diary of Mukunda.
- Return to Bastok and talk to Kagetora (F-6) in Port Bastok, then talk to Ayame again.
- Finally, talk to Alois (J-8) in Metalworks to receive your reward.
