Nyzul Isle Investigation is an unofficial Assault mission entered from Nyzul Isle Staging Point.
Unlike standard Assault missions, Nyzul Isle Investigation does not award normal Assault Points. Successful runs reward Tokens, which are used for Rune of Transfer floor transport and temporary items from the Vendor Box.

Basic Flow
- Accept Nyzul Isle Investigation from Sorrowful Sage in the Commissions Agency.
- Travel to Nyzul Isle Staging Point.
- Obtain an Assault Armband from the local Immortal sentry if leading the run.
- Enter through the Runic Seal.
- Use the lobby Rune of Transfer to select the starting floor.
- Complete each floor objective.
- Use the active Rune of Transfer to advance or exit.
- Exit through the Rune of Transfer before time expires to save progress and receive Tokens.
Runic Disc
Progress through Nyzul Isle Investigation is saved on a player's Runic Disc.

Rune of Transfer
The Rune of Transfer is the main progression object used inside Nyzul Isle Investigation.

| Active floor rune | Appears after the floor objective is complete and allows the party to advance or exit. |
| Exit | Leaving through the active Rune of Transfer saves progress and awards Tokens. |
Tokens
Tokens are awarded after successfully completing at least one floor and exiting through the Rune of Transfer before time expires.
Tokens are not inventory items or key items. They are tracked automatically and can be checked through Sorrowful Sage or the Nyzul Isle Staging Point NPC.

Token Rewards
The base Token reward per floor begins at 200 and increases by 10 every 5 floors. Final rewards are reduced by party size in the same way as standard Assault Point rewards, and the Assault Armband holder may receive a 10% Token bonus.

Floor Objectives
Each floor randomly assigns an objective. Examining the inactive Rune of Transfer displays the current objective. Completing the objective activates the rune.

| Eliminate enemy leader | Defeat the assigned Notorious Monster. | Boss floors use special HNM-style leaders. |
| Activate all lamps | Complete the assigned lamp condition. | Lamp objectives may be certification, same-time activation, or ordered activation. |
| Free floor | No objective. | The party may immediately use the Rune of Transfer. |

Floor Restrictions
Some floors may add an Archaic Gear restriction on top of the normal objective.

Failure to follow a gear restriction may apply Pathos, which can include status penalties, action restrictions, time loss, or Token reward reduction.

Every 20 floors, the party encounters a boss floor.
