Overload is a negative effect associated with Puppetmaster Maneuvers.
When an Automaton overloads, active maneuvers are removed and the automaton is temporarily hindered. Overload is caused by building too much elemental burden through repeated maneuver use.
Effects
| Effect | Details |
|---|---|
| Maneuver removal | Active Maneuvers are removed. |
| Maneuver lockout | The Puppetmaster cannot use new maneuvers until Overload wears off. |
| Automaton penalty | The Automaton is affected by movement speed reduction and Slow. |
Burden
Using a maneuver adds elemental burden to the automaton. Each element tracks burden separately.
| Mechanic | Details |
|---|---|
| Elemental burden | Each maneuver adds burden for its own element. |
| Burden decay | Burden decays over time. |
| Threshold | Exceeding the burden threshold creates a chance to overload. |
| Stat comparison | Burden may be lower if the Puppetmaster's associated stat is equal to or higher than the automaton's associated stat. |
| Dark Maneuver | Dark Maneuver may generate less burden than other maneuvers. |
Reducing Overload Risk

| Puppetry Dastanas | Reduces Overload rate. |
| Buffoon's Collar | Reduces Overload rate. |
| Heatsink | Increases burden decay. |
Overdrive
While Overdrive is active, overloads may be prevented, but maneuver burden may still accumulate.
