Waoud is a diviner in Heretic's Alley who serves as the central quest NPC for unlocking and advancing the Blue Mage job.

Content Interactions

Interaction	Details
Divination	After Blue Mage has been unlocked, Waoud offers repeat divinations for 1,000 gil. After receiving a divination, another is unavailable until the following Vana'diel day.
Blue Mage unlock	Tests eligible adventurers through a series of questions during An Empty Vessel. A successful result randomly assigns one of three requested items: Siren's Tear, Valkurm Sunsand, or Dangruf Stone.
Blue Mage progression	Begins the Blue Mage artifact quest line and the job's level-limit quest when their respective requirements are met.

Notes

• Waoud's divination timer is reused by several later Blue Mage quests. Purchasing a reading may prevent the next quest interaction from appearing until the following Vana'diel day.
• Some quest stages also require the player to zone before Waoud will advance the storyline.
• After completing An Empty Vessel, speak with Waoud again for the follow-up cutscene required before Beginnings can become available.
