Walkthrough
- From Windurst Walls, enter Heavens Tower and take the right-hand stairs down to the basement until you reach Chumimi.
- Talk to Chumimi to view a cutscene with Shantotto, Koru-Moru, and Yoran-Oran.
- You will be asked to agree with one of them. Your choice does not affect quest progress; the message "No one paid any attention to you." will appear regardless.
- Your choice only determines which title you receive:
- Doctor Shantotto: Doctor Shantotto Supporter
- Professor Koru-Moru: Professor Koru-Moru Supporter
- Doctor Yoran-Oran: Doctor Yoran-Oran Supporter
- After completing the quest, you can obtain the other two titles from Burute-Sorute in Windurst Walls.
- After the cutscene, Shantotto asks you to toss a Faded Crystal into the gorge in Xarcabard and bring back a Glowstone.
- Before continuing, make sure you have at least one elemental Crystal (any type) so you can obtain a Faded Crystal.
- From this point onward, you no longer need to be a Black Mage (as with most AF quests).
- Obtain a Faded Crystal:
- Travel to Xarcabard and head to Xarcabard (E-8). There are two ??? points:
- Use the one inside the gorge (left side as you approach Castle Zvahl).
- Do not use the one on the cliff near the torch.
- See the annotated map for reference.
- Be ready for nearby enemies (e.g. Demon Pawns and Demon Knights) around the ???.
- Note: If multiple players are doing this quest, there is a ~10-minute cooldown before the ??? can be traded again to respawn the Chaos Elemental.
- Trade the Faded Crystal to the ??? to spawn the Chaos Elemental.
- You can spawn it on any job. A Lv. 75 character can defeat it easily; /BLM for Warp is convenient.
- Defeat the Chaos Elemental and obtain the Glowstone.
- Return the Glowstone to Chumimi to receive the Casting Wand.
- (Hint: come as Black Mage if you plan to start the next AF quest immediately.)
