Controls

FFXI was designed for PC and PS2, so it can be played with a keyboard or standard controller.

NO MOUSE: FFXI has very limited support for mouse. Using the mouse can remove focus from your current menu. It is recommended to not touch the mouse at all while playing FFXI.

Shortcuts

In addition to those basic controls there are a number of quick "shortcut controls" to save time with menu navigation, these are only available to those using a keyboard, and are displayed in the Purple Box. In the yellow box there are a number of useful target shortcuts and what not, particularly handy in battle situations.

Action Command F1 ~ F6 Target party members in the order they appear at the bottom right corner of the screen, F1 being your character. F7 Target yourself (Same as F1) F8 Target the closest NPC or Monster F9 Target the Closest Player F10 Target yourself (Same as F1) F11 ~ 12 When part of an alliance, target the first member of the corresponding alliance's party. Windower Bindings

Windower is an addon that comes with some additional keyboard bindings by default. This is configurable.
