Puppetmaster is a pet job available after completing No Strings Attached. Puppetmasters fight alongside a customizable Automaton, using different heads, frames, maneuvers, and attachments to adapt the automaton's role in battle.
Puppetmasters can also fight with Hand-to-Hand weapons, but their defining strength is controlling and supporting their automaton.

Automaton
The Automaton is the Puppetmaster's companion. It is customized through heads, frames, and attachments.

| Attachments | Add special behaviors, defensive tools, offensive tools, and maneuver-based effects. |
| Maneuvers | Temporarily enhance elemental attachment effects and influence automaton behavior. |
An Animator must be equipped to issue maneuvers and direct the automaton effectively.

Basic Automaton Notes
- Automaton level and stats update when the automaton is activated.
- Deactivating and reactivating after leveling Puppetmaster updates the automaton's level-based stats.
- Deactivate may reset the Activate timer if the automaton is at full HP.

- Up to three maneuvers may be active at once.
- Repeated use of maneuvers can cause Overload.
- Attachments must be installed before they can be equipped to the automaton.
