Welcome

Welcome to the player driven wiki for HorizonXI, a level 75 cap FFXI private server. HorizonXI is an 'Era+' server which is currently based upon the Chains of Promathia era of the game. The server strives to bring players all content available in the current era but with some custom balancing changes, new XP camps etc. Specific changes can be identified on pages via the HorizonXI specific changes symbol.

  • For a full list of the changes, please see the Horizon Changes page.
  • For a full list of content that is outside of our era (OOE), please see the Out of Era page.

If you're here looking to help edit the wiki then you are most welcome to do so. We kindly ask that you read the editing guidelines page before doing so. We don't consider ourselves to be overly strict but there are a few guidelines we like editors to follow and the page has lots of useful information for those not as familiar with editing. For further assistance, please visit the HorizonXI wiki discord.

Wiki News

Monday 10th July 2023

  • The chocobo digging section is now considered complete! Hopefully it's a great resource for all the Horizon diggers out there. We do still need digging results data however, so if you wish to contribute your own, please reach out on the wiki discord.

Tuesday 27th June 2023

  • We have added in a few new sections: Tech Support and Ashita Support, both of which can be found in the nav-bar. We have scraped through discord and compiled as much information for tech support and started to work on the Ashita section too. We welcome any members of our community to add to these pages as your experiences of fixing issues, addon support etc will be a great help.
  • We've also started to work on Help Edit This Wiki. While everyone is encounraged to edit the wiki, we also would like a wiki that's functional and easy to use. We don't ask a lot of editors but please keep an eye on the page for upcoming updates on what we do ask.

Friday 9th June 2023

  • After the big livestream reveal, we now have a functioning relic weapons page with all of HorizonXI's era+ changes included.
  • The majority of the area pages have been added with the vast majority of work coming from Dejey!
  • The xp party camps page while being a constant work in progress has recently had a major overhaul and looks great! Thanks to everyone who contributes to that page, however big or small.

Thursday 4th May 2023

  • We have moved! Having left Fandom behind we have made the switch to MediaWiki. A massive thanks has to go out to Hugin for making this happen.

Earlier in the Year

  • Every single mission can now be found on the wiki.
  • The wiki now has it's own discord server for further wiki related discussion. See the widget in the right-hand toolbar for an invite link (you may need to disable some browser extensions to make it show).

About the Server

HorizonXI provides its adventurers with a 75-era experience that maintains the spirit of Final Fantasy XI (FFXI) as if SquareEnix had continued to develop the game without ever having raised the level cap above 75. As our name suggests, our primary focus has been to re-create a FFXI experience that ensures horizontal progression for both content and gear. Beginning with our initial launch on December 17th, 2022 with “Chains of Promathia” era content and continuing years into the future, all expansions, including post-75-cap content, will eventually be rebalanced for our forever-75-cap private server.

Additionally, HorizonXI plans to effectively “rewrite the narrative” regarding content that many veteran players consider to be “the beginning of the end” for Final Fantasy XI, namely Wings of the Goddess and Abyssea. As such, HorizonXI will present this content in ways that will rework some of the more negative aspects of these patches and stay true to the spirit of what the level 75 cap era was all about – socializing and group oriented play.

AirSkyBoat

AirSkyBoat is the code base that HorizonXI uses as a base for the server code. You can find their repository on GitHub by clicking on this link.

ASB is always looking for people to contribute as well. You can learn more by checking out their discord here or apply to join the HorizonXI/AirSkyBoat Team by filling out an application in the HorizonXI Discord and checking out this channel.
