EXP Rings are a type of enchantment Ring gear that provides an Experience Point bonus on top of EXP from combat. i.e. If a defeated enemy returned 50 EXP points, a buff provided by Empress Band will enhance that EXP by 25, totalling 75 EXP points on kill.
Aquiring EXP Rings
In HorizonXI, the new player may follow a short tutorial questline provided by the quest-giver NPC of their starting nation:
Nation | NPC | Location |
---|---|---|
San d'Oria | Alaune | Southern San d'Oria (G-10) |
Bastok | Gulldago | Bastok Markets (D-11) |
Windurst | Selele | Windurst Woods (K-10) |
Each NPC will give the player a tutorial quest, at the end of which they will be able to redeem a free EXP Ring from the Conquest Overseer nearby.
After this, any other EXP Ring is available for purchase using Conquest Points. Note that the in-game menu has incorrect CP values, while this page features correct CP prices.
Using EXP Rings
Using an EXP Ring is as easy as using any other Enchanted gear. The player must only equip the gear in its proper slot - in this case, any Ring slot - and use the Ring from the Items inventory screen as if it were any other consumable.
The ring can be unequipped once you have used it from your inventory. The experience bonus buff will not wear off upon unequipping.
DANGER: Paralyze condition If paralyze triggers during usage of an EXP ring, you will lose the charge but receive no buff! Remove paralyze status, or wait until it wears off, or you could lose the charge.
Comparison of Rings
In HorizonXI, each ring had their values adjusted, for the purpose of providing good EXP value as well as providing three different playstyles with each ring.
Attribute | Empress Band | Emperor Band | Chariot Band |
---|---|---|---|
EXP Bonus | +50% | +75% | +100% |
Max Duration | 180 min. (3 hrs) | 150 min. (2.5 hrs) | 120 min. (2 hrs) |
Max EXP Bonus | 1,000 EXP | 2,250 EXP | 4,000 EXP |
# of Charges | 10 | 5 | 3 |

Total Annual Bonus | 520,000 EXP/yr | 585,000 EXP/yr | 624,000 EXP/yr |
Cooldown | 15 minutes | 1 hour | 16 hours |
Recharge Cost | 1,000 Conquest Points | 1,100 Conquest Points | 1,200 Conquest Points |
These rings can be dropped/discarded after all charges are used, freeing up 1 inventory slot for the remainder of the week. They can be repurchased for the same CP cost as recharging.
