Walkthrough
- Speak with Ghatsad in the Automaton Workshop at I-7 as Puppetmaster.
- Select the available automaton upgrade.
- Trade the requested materials and payment.
- Return after the required wait to receive the new Automaton head and/or frame.
You may only have one automaton upgrade in progress at a time.
Frame Upgrades
At Puppetmaster levels 10, 20, and 30, Ghatsad can build one of the three standard automaton frame sets.
Standard frame upgrades are completed at the next Japanese midnight (00:00 JST / 15:00 UTC). This is an Earth-time daily reset, not a Vana'diel midnight. -Confirmed as of 8/23/2026

Head Upgrades
After obtaining all three standard frame sets, Ghatsad can build the specialized magic heads at Puppetmaster levels 40 and 50.
