Started work on Automaton Head pages with Soulsoother. Removed the Soulsoother quest info and instead linked to the Upgrading page, which will link to the new quest page for the turban! Some info may be incorrect, going based on findings, and retail assumptions!

After reaching level 40 on Puppetmaster, speak to Raimbert in Stoneserpent Square of Aht Urhgan Whitegate (G-11).
Casting Behaviour
The Soulsoother AI has a global casting cooldown of around 4 seconds, but each individual magic skill has it's own cooldown.

The pet's casting logic runs on a priority system based on it's target, party members, equipped attachments and the master's active maneuvers.

*The Automaton will only cast Regen on the target's current target, before cycling Protect and Shell throughout the party.
*It will prioritize the Puppetmaster, followed by it's target's target for Protect and Shell, itself, and finally it's party members.
*The Automaton's Spell Priority can be forced through Maneuvers, with each Element pushing it's appropriate spell to the front of it's priority.
** An active Wind Maneuver will place Silence above the rest of it's Enfeebles.
*** An active Light and Wind Maneuver will in turn make it's priority Dia > Silence > and then default from Poison.
*For Bio/Dia, without Maneuver influence the Automaton will cast it's latest learned spell, essentially a priority list of Bio II > Dia II > Bio > Dia.

He starts a quest called "A Heart Remembered", a Horizon specific quest to obtain the White Puppet Turban.
Deploy Behaviour
*Provides a bonus to the Automaton's Magic Skill when equipped, even if the Frame doesn't naturally have MP to cast.
*When equipped to Harlequin Frame or Stormwaker Frame, it gains the ability to cast healing magic on the Puppetmaster's party members.
*When equipped to Valoredge Frame or Sharpshot Frame, it acts identical to each frame's respective Head, albeit with a weaker skill and different Elemental Capacity.
** Valoredge Frame will close into melee, whilst Sharpshot Frame will remain within 15' of it's target.

Now you need talk to Ghatsad in the puppet shop and complete a trade of his requested payment of imperial coins and the White Puppet Turban! This will require the three frame/head combinations available to pick up at Puppetmaster levels 10/20/30 are completed to move through this step.
|style="background:#ecd7fe; border-color: #bd72fd;"|

Current theory is that you need to give Ghatsad 200 points worth of white magic scrolls if you want to speed up the time it takes to get the Soulsoother Head from him.

|style="border-color: #bd72fd;"| Paralyna
Consensus is that Banish is worth 1 point, purchasable from spell vendors in any region not in last place for the current conquest tally. Barstonra is also likely worth 1 point, conveniently purchasable in Lower Jeuno at a slightly higher cost than Banish. More testing and data gathering likely required to figure out what all the spell's point values are to cap out Ghatsad's needs.
|style="border-color: #bd72fd;"|

|-
Tested 08/18/26: Ghatsad took 192 Barstonra before stating he has all the spell data he needs.

Soulsoother Head
Soulsoother Head
A head attachment for an Automaton.
Determines the AI of the Automaton.
Influences the Automaton's capacity, Skill levels, and spells.

Acquisition

Casting Behaviour

The Soulsoother AI has a global casting cooldown of around 4 seconds, but each individual magic skill has it's own cooldown.

  • Global Cooldown 4s~
  • Enfeebling Cooldown 4s~
  • Healing Cooldown 15s~
  • Enhancing Cooldown 15s~
  • Status Removal 15s~ Verification Needed

The pet's casting logic runs on a priority system based on it's target, party members, equipped attachments and the master's active maneuvers.

Default Casting Behaviour
Magic Skill Spell Prio Target Prio
Enfeebling Slow > Poison > Blind > Bio/Dia > Silence > Paralyze N/A
Healing N/A Puppetmaster > Target's TargetVerification Needed > SelfVerification Needed > PartyVerification Needed
Enhancing Regen > Protect > Shell > Haste Puppetmaster > Target's TargetVerification Needed > SelfVerification Needed > PartyVerification Needed
Removal Verification Needed Puppetmaster > Target's TargetVerification Needed > SelfVerification Needed > PartyVerification Needed
  • The Automaton will only cast Regen on the target's current target, before cycling Protect and Shell throughout the party.
  • It will prioritize the Puppetmaster, followed by it's target's target for Protect and Shell, itself, and finally it's party members.
  • The Automaton's Spell Priority can be forced through Maneuvers, with each Element pushing it's appropriate spell to the front of it's priority.
    • An active Wind Maneuver will place Silence above the rest of it's Enfeebles.
      • An active Light and Wind Maneuver will in turn make it's priority Dia > Silence > and then default from Poison.
  • For Bio/Dia, without Maneuver influence the Automaton will cast it's latest learned spell, essentially a priority list of Bio II > Dia II > Bio > Dia.

Deploy Behaviour

  • Provides a bonus to the Automaton's Magic Skill when equipped, even if the Frame doesn't naturally have MP to cast.
  • When equipped to Harlequin Frame or Stormwaker Frame, it gains the ability to cast healing magic on the Puppetmaster's party members.
  • When equipped to Valoredge Frame or Sharpshot Frame, it acts identical to each frame's respective Head, albeit with a weaker skill and different Elemental Capacity.
    • Valoredge Frame will close into melee, whilst Sharpshot Frame will remain within 15' of it's target.
