Windurst

  • To begin, open the map and proceed to the point labeled with a green and yellow "beginners'" arrow. Your first task is to learn how to trade your Adventurer Coupon to the NPC located there.

Tutorial Quest #1

Tip: To efficiently travel around Windurst there are "Warp Tarutarus" positioned around the city. Their locations are shown here

Tip: Always try to have the Signet buff when fighting monsters

East Sarutabaruta

  • It's now time to leave the city and begin your first foray of combat. Your primary goal is to slay level 1 monsters until you reach level 5, but keep your eye out for a Rarab Tail. We will need this for an upcoming quest.
  • Once outside, figure out how to eat a strip of your Meat Jerky.
  • Now, slay monsters in this close vicinity. Practice using a Weapon Skill once you reach skill level 5 in your weapon.

Level 5

  • Once you have reached job level 5 and obtained a Rarab Tail, it's time to head back into the city.
Tip: One type of monster in the vicinity drops Rarab Tail, but which one may surprise you...
Tip: Weapons are the most important way to improve your damage, while food is the second most important--even moreso than armor

Windurst Woods

Tutorial Quest #2

  • Talk to Selele and advance the Tutorial Quest. She'll instruct you how to craft an item. Do so, then progress to the stage of the Tutorial Quest where she asks us to visit the Auction House

Nation Mision 1-1

Port Windurst

  • Once at the Orastery head inside and speak with the mages until you get a clue to the whereabouts of the minister. (cutscene)
  • After the cutscene, take a detour down an alleyway and behind a warehouse to G-5
  • You will encounter a gang of children. Speak to their leader. (cutscene)
  • Once you've handed over your Rarab Tail, you can continue to speak to them for another quest.
  • Return to the Orastery and speak with the Warp Taru up on the roof
Tip: You can obtain Nation Missions by speaking with a Gate Guard stationed at any of the city gates

Windurst Walls

  • You'll be whisked away to Windurst Walls--to the roof of the Auction House. Proceed below and inspect the Auction Counter to try it out.
    • If you would like, you can sell your reward from the previous quest for a nice chunk of change.
  • If you've encountered any beat up, wayward mail the nearby postman Ambrosius will be interested to hear about it.
Tip: Generally speaking, on the Auction House it's most efficient to sell stacks of items--12 at a time. It's time consuming to list single items, so consider hanging onto them until you have a stack

Downtime: explain MOG SATCHEL linking

Walk South from AH & stop by mog house to store ALL items we aren’t using. -keep your wild onions on you (probably don’t have any yet..) -Not now, but in the future when you’re on your own, You may find it convenient to set HP here. Where we have is better for the time being because it is a easier death walk for right now. But later, right here outside the mog house is probably where you’ll want it

Complete Tutorial #3 @ gate. -Buy chariot band from conquest overseer. Get a chariot band. Later you can try the other ones, after you have used up all three charges of your chariot band. -he has other good stuff; usually CP is worth 2x or more than gil if you buy the right stuff; check AH

NATION MISSION #1=

Exit the city YAM QUEST #2: WILD ONIONS -Look I’ll just fucking tell you, It’s dropped by goblin thug

-explain check -if you can, kill monsters as you go -practice dodging

Proceed to: Inner Horutoto Ruins (#5 J-7) E.Saru -Use chariot band @ exit city -Kill goblin thugs on the way & crawler -We are going to start encountering dangerous mobs, start checking each mob before you fight (ctrl C or the menu) -should get to level 6 on the way

-Might want to talk to cat on way in for some intel ENTER

-Somewhere in here is the minister, where is he? My memory has been wiped and they must figure it out -dont proceed if you enter a rocky cave area “beetles burrow” -dont tell them but crack is @ H-9 (cutscene) then you are tasked to inspect each of the 6 gizmo -explain “zoning” -it’s random for each person. -team up with someone if theyre here often theres other players -no monster higher than L6 here -TIME FOR THE ONION TALLY. Anybody have 4? (there will be more opportunities..) -should be level 8 now

Return to city, tele @ roundabout & complete mission @ Orastery (port) -Complete SOB if anyone has 4x onion

This is a good stopping point

NATION MISSION #2

-Gate Guard -Buy warp scroll? If you can afford.. -try to always have warp. -Manustery, Windurst Woods (H-9) and talk to Apururu. -Horu Ruins #4 (e.Saru J-11) -MUST talk to Pore-Ohre @ entrance for KI

ENTER: -BE VERY CAREFUL OF BALOON-TYPE MOBS (they are hidden inside) they’re stronger than other mobs and will aggro so we should fight them together -the single bats aggro here, but not trio -Try to get 4 wild onions (goblin thug) before returning. -There’s 6 mana orb spots but 2 are hidden… -Once youve touched all 6 go to crack on eastern wall & complete -Must retrieve all 6 now. -by now you should be level 9/10 -Exit for cool cardian CS -Warp/walk back

-Return to the Manustery (woods) and talk to Apururu -Turn in star onion brigade #2 (give them onions if necessary)

NM#3 is Giddeus Making Money:

the two R/EX items from W. Saru (don’t say but its Torn epistle from savana rarab +meterorite from starfall hillock crawlers) gives a really good item worth 5k (compound eye circlet)

-Gathering?

-Gardening

Show them starting players’ guide

Future items/quest: - MH exit - Evasion circlet - Aspir (two leaf bud R/EX & test answers)
