Walkthrough

• As a Red Mage, speak to Curilla at I-9 in Chateau d'Oraguille to begin the quest.
  • You must be on Red Mage to start the quest, but the remaining steps can be completed on any job.
  • If Curilla gives dialogue for The General's Secret instead, complete that quest and speak to her again.

• Speak to Sharzalion at K-6 in the Lion Springs Tavern.

• Zone into Fei'Yin from Beaucedine Glacier. If you are on the correct quest step and do not already have an Antique Coin, Miser Murphy will spawn near the Dry Fountain at H-8 on the first floor.
  • Miser Murphy is immune to Sleep and Silence, and is highly resistant to Bind, Stun, Paralyze, and Blind.
  • His melee attacks can occasionally drain a large amount of HP.

• Defeat Miser Murphy and obtain an Antique Coin.
  • Only one Antique Coin drops at a time.

• Trade the Antique Coin to the same Dry Fountain for a cutscene.

• Return to the Lion Springs Tavern and speak to Sharzalion again.

• Speak to Daggao at K-5 in the Lion Springs Tavern.
  • If Lure of the Wildcat (San d'Oria) is active and Daggao gives unrelated dialogue, speak to him again.

• Go to Garlaige Citadel. Past the first Banishing Gate, examine the Oaken Box at G-8 in the first room on the left to spawn Guardian Statue.
  • You do not need to be on Red Mage to spawn Guardian Statue.
  • Guardian Statue is immune to Blind, Sleep, Stun, Paralyze, Slow, and Elegy.

• Defeat Guardian Statue and obtain a Nail Puller.
  • Only one Nail Puller drops at a time.

• Trade the Nail Puller to the same Oaken Box for a cutscene.
  • If you zone out after obtaining the Nail Puller, trade it to the Oaken Box when you return.

• Zone into Northern San d'Oria for the final cutscene and your Warlock's Chapeau.
  • You need at least one free inventory slot. If zoning from your Mog House does not trigger the cutscene, zone from Southern San d'Oria into Northern San d'Oria.
