HorizonXI Changes

This is a HorizonXI custom quest for obtaining the Black Puppet Turban. The turban is used when obtaining the Spiritreaver Head through Puppetmaster: Upgrading Your Automaton.

The official quest name, quest-log description, battlefield menu name, and enemy name have not yet been confirmed.

Walkthrough

1. Set Puppetmaster as your main job and speak with Zonono inside the Halvung Staging Point at Mount Zhayolm (K-6).
2. Travel to Windurst Waters (North).
3. Examine the quest target near the Optistery at Windurst Waters North (G-7) to obtain a notebook.
4. Return to Zonono. He directs you toward the heart of Mount Zhayolm.
5. Travel to the Decorative Bronze Gate at Mount Zhayolm (D-8).
6. Examine the gate and enter the quest battlefield in the Navukgo Execution Chamber.
7. Defeat the Black Mage-type puppet in the solo, level 40-capped battlefield.
8. Return to Zonono to complete the quest and receive the Black Puppet Turban.

Enemy Notes

• Appears to have around 2000-2500 HP.
• Unit R-0 will cast single-target and AoE elemental spells available to a Lv.40 Black Mage (IE, Stonega II, Fire II etc.)
• It will also frequently cast debuffs like Bio, Paralyze and Dispel.
• Can use the automaton weapon skill Slapstick for substantial (~400) damage.
• The puppet DOES appear susceptible to Silence (including that cast by your own automaton).
• It appears to remain stationary throughout the fight; it will turn to face others who acquire hate, but does not appear to chase them. This renders it of little threat to someone outside of its melee range when it is silenced.
• Throughout the fight, it displays a clouded effect with no log message. It is unknown what this does, whether perhaps it is a change of maneuvers or simply cosmetic.
• At around 10% health, Unit R-0 will begin casting Meteor. During this cast, it will speak a single letter roughly every 4-5 seconds, slowly spelling out "M-E-T-E-O-R". It can be assumed that the battle will automatically fail if the puppet is not defeated before it can complete the word, but I cannot confirm this because my puppet cast Silence midway, which interrupted its casting and automatically killed it.

• Additional prerequisites, if any, remain unknown.
• It has not yet been confirmed whether Puppetmaster must remain the player's main job after beginning the quest.
• The Black Puppet Turban is also listed as a level 70 Clothcraft synthesis item.
• You can win the fight with the Soulsoother head. The RDM Attachment had trouble casting silence.
