This is the first Blue Mage Artifact Armor quest—otherwise known as AF1.

Walkthrough

Starting the Quest

1. Complete An Empty Vessel to unlock Blue Mage.
2. Speak with Waoud again at Aht Urhgan Whitegate (J-10) and view the post-unlock cutscene.
   • This follow-up interaction is required before Beginnings can become available.
3. Zone after the cutscene and wait until the next Vana'diel day begins.
   • This is a Vana'diel-day wait, not a Japanese-midnight wait.
4. Complete the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mission Immortal Sentries if it has not already been completed.
5. Set Blue Mage as your main job at level 40 or higher.
6. Return to Waoud at J-10 and accept his proposal to begin the quest.

Obtaining the Five Brands

Visit each of the five standard Staging Point Immortals while Blue Mage is set as your main job. The brands may be obtained in any order.

Completing the Quest

1. After obtaining all five brands, set Blue Mage as your main job.
2. Return to Waoud at J-10.
3. Complete the resulting cutscene to receive:
   • Immortal's Scimitar
   • The title Branded by the Five Serpents
4. Zone before attempting to begin Omens.

Quest Details

• All five Immortal interactions require Blue Mage to be set as the player's main job.
• The five brands may be obtained in any order.
• Changing to another main job does not cancel the quest, but the relevant quest interactions will not activate until Blue Mage is set as the main job again.
• Waoud may separately offer his repeat divination service for 1,000 gil. This is not part of the brand collection requirement.
• Previously activated Runic Portal destinations can substantially shorten travel to the five Staging Points.
