Reaching Mine Shaft #2716

The central area of Newton Movalpolos, which leads to Mine Shaft #2716, is inaccessible from the other parts of Newton Movalpolos. There are several ways to access this area, and subsequently reach Mine Shaft #2716, and each has its own requirements.

Gambling and Gil Teleport

Twinkbrix, located at Oldton Movalpolos (E-13), right after the entrance from North Gustaberg (K-6), will teleport you to the Mine Shaft entrance for 2,000 gil. However, he will only teleport you after you obtained the Mine Shaft Operating Dial from him. To obtain it, you need to gamble with him.

• To gamble with Twinkbrix, trade him an amount between 1-10,000 gil. The amount traded will affect your chances of winning his dice game.
  • You have a 1-in-2 chance with 10,000 gil and a 1-in-2500 chance at 1 gil.
  • If 2716 gil is traded (corresponding to the number in Mine Shaft #2716) a secret message will be displayed. (See talk page for a discussion on whether or not this affects your winning chances.)
• Winning the dice game against Twinkbrix rewards you with the Mine Shaft Operating Dial which allows you to enter ENM in Mine Shaft #2716.

After winning his game, trading him an additional 2,000 gil will prompt Twinkbrix to warp you to the entrance of Mine Shaft #2716.

Note: If you do not enter an ENM which uses up your Mine Shaft Operating Dial, all you ever need is trade Twinkbrix 2,000 gil for his teleport service: You do not need to gamble with him as long as you possess the Mine Shaft Operating Dial.

Note: If you have a Shaft 2716 Operating Lever in your possession, you will lose it if you let him teleport you and you will consequently not be able to enter the ENM Bionic Bug.

Snow Lily teleport

Tarnotik, located at Oldton Movalpolos (K-10), will teleport you to the entrance of Mine Shaft #2716 if you trade him a Snow Lily. However, this only works if you are on or have completed Promathia Mission 3-3: Three Paths.

Ahriman Tears teleport

Tarnotik, located at Oldton Movalpolos (K-10), will teleport you to the entrance of Mine Shaft #2716 if you trade him a bottle of Ahriman Tears. However, this only works if you have completed or are at the appropriate stage of the quest Return to the Depths. This is currently not implemented in the HorizonXI codebase and will only work once to progress the quest. (see talk page for details)

Travelling

You can reach Mine Shaft #2716 by travelling through Oldton Movalpolos and Newton Movalpolos, but it requires a party of 4 to operate the 3 rusty levers simultaneously. Have several party members zone through Newton Movalpolos and manipulate the rusty levers to allow you to pass through to the otherwise inaccessible area of Newton Movalpolos, which leads to the Mine Shaft #2716 entrance. Then you must do the same for them. Then you need to navigate Newton Movalpolos by trading Firesand as required to the various gates to rotate furnaces. At Newton Movalpolos (L-8), you will find the Mine Shaft #2716 entrance.

Operating the Furnaces

There are three gates in Newton Movalpolos, located at Newton Movalpolos (F-7 / F-10 / J-8). If you trade a Firesand to any of the Furnace Hatches nearby, the gates will flip.
