Mission Orders

The Imperial Army plans to traverse Lebros Cavern during its campaign against Halvung, but several tunnels are blocked by volcanic rock. Destroy all five obstructions and clear a route for the Imperial forces.

Entry

  1. Speak with Rytaal in the Commissions Agency to receive an Imperial Army I.D. Tag.
  2. Speak with Famad at L-10 and select Excavation Duty.
  3. The Imperial Army I.D. Tag is exchanged for Lebros Assault orders, and the temporary Map of Lebros Cavern is issued.
  4. Travel to the Halvung Staging Point at K-6.
  5. One party member must obtain an Assault Armband from the staging point's Immortal.
  6. Examine the Runic Seal to enter the Assault.
  7. Each participant receives Zhayolm Fireflies upon entering.

Map and Objectives

The entire mission takes place on Lebros Cavern Map 4.

Location Objective Recommended Method
G-11 Entry point Begin here and proceed northeast.
H-10 First Brittle Rock Conventional damage; Qiqirn Mines are not yet accessible.
H-7 Brittle Rock Qiqirn Mine
I-9 Brittle Rock Qiqirn Mine
I-7 Brittle Rock Qiqirn Mine
J-8 Brittle Rock Qiqirn Mine
F-10 Ancient Lockbox and Rune of Release Appear after all five rocks are destroyed.

Walkthrough

  1. Enter at G-11 and proceed to the first Brittle Rock at H-10.
  2. Destroy the first Brittle Rock using conventional attacks.
    • Brittle Rocks take heavily reduced physical, ranged, magical, and breath damage.
    • The Qiqirn that provide Qiqirn Mines are located beyond this first obstruction.
  3. After the first obstruction is removed, defeat Qiqirn Ceramists and Qiqirn Volcanists.
    • Each has approximately a 50% chance to award a Qiqirn Mine directly to the player who defeats it.
    • The mine is a temporary item and does not enter the treasure pool.
  4. Use Qiqirn Mines against the remaining Brittle Rocks:
  5. To use a mine:
    1. Target the Brittle Rock.
    2. Stand close to the obstruction.
    3. Use the Qiqirn Mine.
    4. Remain clear while the summoned mine completes its countdown.
    5. Its Mine Blast immediately destroys the Brittle Rock if it connects.
  6. Destroy all five Brittle Rocks.
    • Each destroyed rock opens its corresponding barrier.
    • The objective completes automatically when the fifth rock is destroyed.
  7. The Ancient Lockbox and Rune of Release appear at F-10.
  8. Open the Ancient Lockbox and distribute all treasure before activating the Rune of Release.
  9. Examine the Rune of Release to complete the Assault and receive Assault Points.

Brittle Rock Mechanics

Mechanic Effect
Movement Brittle Rocks are stationary.
Normal attacks Physical damage is heavily reduced.
Ranged attacks Ranged damage is heavily reduced.
Magic Magical damage is heavily reduced.
Breath attacks Breath damage is heavily reduced.
Qiqirn Mine — Mine Blast Immediately destroys the Brittle Rock.
Mission progress Each destroyed Brittle Rock adds one point of progress. Five are required.

The verified special interaction is Mine Blast from a Qiqirn Mine. Ordinary attacks and other sources of damage may still damage a Brittle Rock, but they do not receive the mine's explicit instant-destruction behavior.

Qiqirn Mines

Qiqirn Mine is a temporary item used to destroy Brittle Rocks.

Source Approximate Mine Chance Delivery
Qiqirn Ceramist ~50% Directly to the defeating player's temporary-item inventory
Qiqirn Volcanist ~50% Directly to the defeating player's temporary-item inventory

The current LandSandBoat implementation performs a direct random roll when the Qiqirn dies. It does not perform a normal item-drop or Treasure Hunter calculation.

When a Qiqirn Mine is used:

  • An allied mine appears near the targeted obstruction.
  • A 10-second countdown begins.
  • The mine uses Mine Blast near the end of the countdown.
  • Mine Blast immediately defeats a Brittle Rock.
  • The summoned mine disappears shortly afterward.

Enemies

Base levels are adjusted when a voluntary Assault level restriction is selected.

Name Base Level Spawns Notes
Volcanic Bomb 76-77 8
  • Standard enemy.
  • Not required for mission completion.
Qiqirn Ceramist 77-78 5
Qiqirn Volcanist 77-78 4
Brittle Rock 75 5
  • Mission objective.
  • Stationary.
  • Takes heavily reduced conventional damage.
  • Instantly destroyed by Mine Blast.

Strategy

  • Concentrate the entire party on the first Brittle Rock at H-10.
  • Attack speed and multi-hit attacks are useful against the first rock because all conventional damage is heavily reduced.
  • Once the first obstruction is gone, defeat Qiqirn until enough mines are obtained.
  • A party can split after the first rock:
    • One group may handle H-7.
    • Another group may work through I-9, I-7, and J-8.
  • Do not rely on Treasure Hunter to improve the Qiqirn Mine rate.
  • Target the Brittle Rock before using a mine.
  • Stand close enough that Mine Blast will strike the obstruction.
  • Avoid wasting mines on normal enemies.
  • All five rocks must be destroyed; merely reaching the release area is not sufficient.

Assault Points

Party Size Base Assault Points
1-3 1,100
4 990
5 880
6 770

Additional modifiers:

  • Each party member beyond the third reduces the base reward by 10%.
  • The holder of the Assault Armband receives a 10% mission-leader bonus.
  • A player's first successful completion receives a 50% first-clear bonus.
  • Assault Point bonuses are multiplicative.
  • A failed Assault may award 100 consolation points.

Ancient Lockbox

The Ancient Lockbox appears at F-10 after all five Brittle Rocks are destroyed.

The player opening the lockbox may receive one unappraised item directly, provided sufficient inventory space is available. Bonus treasure is placed into the treasure pool.

Bonus Treasure

The following are four independent reward rolls:

Roll Result Chance
1 Remedy 90%
No item 10%
2 Remedy 20%
No item 80%
3 Hi-Potion +3 40%
No item 60%
4 Hi-Potion +3 20%

Because the rolls are independent, the same Ancient Lockbox can award more than one Remedy or Hi-Potion +3.
