ASCII Alt codes can be used to create characters not seen on your keyboard, and incorporate them into FFXI Macro or chat. Listed below are the basic characters. Simply hold the "ALT" key and using your numeric keypad (NUMLOCK on) type the corresponding numbers and release ALT.
Codes not shown here will come up as a "box", "¦", "+", "-", "?" or possibly other incorrect symbols "in game". These are verified to work in HorizonXI in the chat, every... single... one... lol. So if you find any other that are not incorrect or repeats of others, please add. I specifically left out keys found on most standard English keyboards to simplify the page of information. - RedBaren

Codes will mostly start with zero, but can have alternates found. If alternates exist for simplicity will have a forward slash "/" to separate, e.g. [0191/168 ¿ ] ALT+0191 or ALT+168 will make upside-down Question mark.

  • Some look similar on this text but will be noticeably different on the game or other fonts that show them, e.g.0145 ‘ 0146 ’
