VeLugannonPalace1.png
  • Is a Timed Spawn, appearing 2-3 hours after it's previous time of death. HorizonXI specific changes
  • Spawns between E-3 to K-3 and can be underground as well. This NM moves constantly, making a circuit between E-4 to K-4 approximately every 5 minutes. If the door in the middle is closed, either the east or west side will be patrolled from H-3.
  • Killable by 6 level 75 players. Soloable by a RDM/NIN using Bind and Gravity.
  • Special attacks: Zipacna uses the normal Golem specials, but will spam Crystal Rain (AoE damage) and Crystal Weapon (single-target, ranged damage). Mages should stay at mid- to long-range.

Historical Background

In Mayan mythology, Zipacna is a demon, the son of Vucub Caquix and Chimalmat. He was depicted a giant caiman (a crocodile-like creature). He was strong, violent and arrogant, often claiming to be the creator of mountains. Some of the Mayan gods, a group called the Four Hundred Boys, conspired to kill Zipacna because he was too powerful. He faked his own death, letting the gods believed they succeeded in slaying him. He came back when they were all drunk and killed all 400 of them. The Hero Twins, Hunahpu & Xbalanque took revenge on Zipacna by setting a trap involving a fake crab (Zipacna's favorite food) and he was killed by either a mountain being made to collapse on him or being turned to stone.
