History
- Gawain's Axe is named after Sir Gawain from the early English poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. The additional effect of Paralyze is no doubt attributed to the final scene in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. In the scene the Green Knight is allowed to cut at Sir Gawain's head, but at the last minute, Sir Gawain flinches. The Green Knight gives Sir Gwain a second chance, during which Sir Gawain remains perfectly still, thus earning the Green Knight's great axe as a prize.
