Findings from the first group to clear: "Ultimega Findings:

Okay . . .

There are a few mechanics to watch out for:

1) They have to be within 10% HP of each other, or the lower HP one will recover to the same HP as the full HP

2) They have to be within ~20' (exact number unconfirmed, we did about 15'), or they start to regen heavily until brought closer together

3) They should fall under the same x0% threshold at the same time, or they will go crazy and start spamming TP moves until the 2nd weapon also reaches the same threshold (i.e. if Omega hits 30% and Ultima is 38%, both of them will relentlessly spam TP moves until Ultima also hits 30%)

We moved Ultima to the new Pod Ejaculation Ejection every time Omega would use it, but we don't know if this is actually necessary, or what it does.

Setup:

NIN/RDM 2x, BRD SMN THF WHM NIN/RDM 2x, BRD SMN RDM WHM BLM 3x WHM 1x SMN 2x

We originally planned to magic burst, but ultimately decided against it because of the constant hate resets from Pile Pitch/Colossal Blow/Wire Cutter. We used elemental wheel on both NMs at the same time, with SMNs spamming Nether Blast on Omega to supplement, since Ultima takes more damage than Omega.

We kept all DoTs up at all times, and helped stun both Ultima and Omega after AoE wipes/Dissipation etc.

Neither NM has regain, so often times during the 2-leg Omega phases, we would sit there and recover.

At 25%, Omega turns into Laser Shower/Colossal Blow mode, and at 19%, Ultima gains access to Citadel Buster and can use it at will. We got unlucky with a few badly timed busters, so we ended up having to HP a lot of people to recover. We took Omega down to 9%, and then from 11%, we Chainspell Stun locked Ultima and killed it with Manafont/Mikage etc. I still had about 20-30 seconds left by the time Ultima died, so we managed to dump the rest of our damage into Omega until it died.

On future kills, we'll bring Omega to 9%, and Ultima to 19%, then just CS stun Ultima to death, because Citadel Buster is the only real danger. Ultima is extremely weak, so it will definitely die fast"


Ultimega Ascension Strategy (author Cinisbellum)

Key points:

Ultima and Omega can’t be more that 20 Yalms apart or start to TP Move Rage

Ultima and Omega have to be with 10% HP of each other or will heal to the higher ones HP level if you hit 11% Ultima has a cone ability (laser shower) and Omega has a 5 Yalm AoE circle Move. Mages stand in the safe spot between the two. (Star on map that will rotate)

Omega will drop pods every couple minutes, the Omega party will rotate around the outside, staying with 20 Yalms of the center and out of the previous pods (geo bubble). If 3 pods interact they will generate “nuclear fuel” and AoE wipe the raid.

WHM & RDM only take actions on YOUR boss and party members

Omega Party Comp

NIN/RDM X 3, RDM/DRK, BRD/WHM, WHM/ANY

PLD can substitute for the hold phase for one NIN/RDM if needed

Party will walk Omega around the outer rim and move as a group every time a pod is dropped. Note Physical reduction and magic reduction phases. He will die slower so the SMN/Assist party should help here most. RDM/DRK save stun for when TP spam starts.

Omega will be brought to 12% and held until final push.

Ultima Party Comp

NIN/RDM X 3, RDM/DRK, BRD/WHM, WHM/ANY

Party will rotation in the center to keep the cone AOE off the omega party. RDM/DRK save stun for when TP spam starts. BRD help erase with WHM to remove double slows quickly. RDM on top of hastes. NIN’s fan out and not all get hit by cone dmg. Bold text

Ultima will be brought to 21% and held until final push.

Assist/DD Party

4 SMN/WHM, BRD/WHM, THF/WHM

SMN will help with Omega mostly. Diabolos Nether blast or Ramuh stun is very strong here. Highest MP SMN will use AoE Refresh, if you have a Ghorn BRD they should go in this party.

Final Push

Condition: Omega 12%, Ultima 21% (keeping within 10%). Verify Ultima Magic shield is down, RDM/DRK Chainspell stun ALL DD’s (even Omega NIN’s) that don’t have hate full DPS on Ultima.

If needed call for second chain spell stun.

NIN’s use 2 hour + INT potion and burn Ultima. Note the Nuke wall if it stops taking DMG.

NIN remaining on Omega needs to get it to 10% before Ultima dies, ~2% DMG Once Ultima is down the whole raid moves with Omega in a line to the East so geo-pods don’t stack and wipe the raid
