"Melee" (pronounced "meylay") has been adopted and popularized as a gaming term to encompass all close-quarter fighting. Some popular Melee DPS classes include Monk, Warrior, Thief, Samurai and Dark Knight. All of which classes are known for their powerful close-range combat, Weapon Skills and melee Job Abilities.
