Movement Speed

From HorizonXI Wiki

Movement Speed denotes, aptly enough, the speed that a character is normally allowed to move at. Most normal monsters will also move at this speed, some exceptions being Tigers, Raptors, Wyverns, and Sabotenders which can move faster, and even some that move slower such as Marids and Wamouracampa. Monsters typically move slower than normal when they are passive, and will only start to move at their maximum speed once they have become aggressive to a player.

Generally, standard Movement Speed is referred to as "100%", which is the fastest a player can move under normal circumstances. A boost of +100% to Movement Speed essentially doubles the rate at which a character can move, and is the highest attainable boost players can achieve (player speed does not exceed 200%). Movement Speed in itself cannot be dropped to 0%; however, the status effect Bind can temporarily prevent movement.

Various pieces of equipment and certain spells/abilities can affect this speed. The spells Haste and Slow do not affect movement speed; they only affect weapon delay and magic recast timers.

  • Boosts to movement from multiple pieces of equipment will not stack with each other. The largest boost is the one the player will receive.
  • Mazurka and Gravity will stack with each other and with equipment. Both Mazurka will not stack with each other, but a Mazurka will stack with a speed boost from equipment.
  • Nothing stacks with Flee or a Chocobo.
  • Flee will overwrite some forms of Gravity.
