Historical Background
In Japanese folklore, Onibi is the word for the mysterious lights seen in marshes and swamps at night, called Will-o'-the-Wisp, Ignis Fatuus, Fox Fire, Corpse Candle, Friar's Lantern, Hobby Lantern, Vaett Lys in European cultures. Onibi appears as a Fire Elemental, fitting its background in folklore.
