Magic Burst Monsters are era+ monsters introduced to Horizon with the Verification Needed patch. These monsters can't be damaged by physical damage as any attempt to do so will result in them "raising defense", nullifying the players damage. Instead players must either land successful Skillchains and Magic Bursts to remove this shield, which then allows regular damage to be done once more or damage them with magic.
