This Guide is aimed at assisting new players and restarters to join in the new era modes.
Ironman is similar to "self-found" in other games. Players will need to personally gather all of the materials they need for adventuring and craft or source each item on their own. This opens up a huge amount of the game, which is usually dismissed as "not worthwhile" when cheap goods are easily available on the Auction House. In addition, Ironman characters can only party with other Ironman characters, to prevent them being "funneled" items by regular characters (Which are more easily geared up). This creates additional challenge and prestige.
Hardcore is a mode where you CAN use all available resources, but cannot die or you will lose your Hardcore status
To Start Ironman
- Speak to the Ironman Mode npc:
- Robin (Bastok Markets)
- Robinette (Port San d'Oria)
- Ronina (Windhurst Walls)
Characters become ineligible for Ironman if they have:
- Interacted with the Auction House
- Interacted with a Delivery Box
- Attempted to buy from a bazaar
- Completed a trade
- Joined a party
Things of note that can be done:
- You can however have a party of just Ironman mode people
- You can have Ironman characters to purchase a Perpetual Hourglass from other Ironman bazaars. This allows Ironman characters to enter Dynamis together. It does not allowed Ironman characters to enter Dynamis with regular players.
- Allow use of Bazaar (For display purposes) but not purchasing
Rewards
- Level 18 = "Red Chip"
- Level 30 = "Blue Chip"
- Level 40 = "Green Chip"
- Level 50 = "Clear Chip"
- Level 60 = "Purple Chip"
- Level 70 = "White Chip"
- These rewards are tentative, it is believed that they are just place holders in the repository until implemented and adjust for each server that participates
Note
- Ironman Mode can be used as a punishment, disabling a character for the period of time to not be able to use the auction house, delivery box, trade, invite or be invited to a party, and buy or sell from a bazaar.
