Involved in Quests
SPOILER WARNING: Details about the Final Fantasy XI in-game storyline follow.
Atarefaunet appears in several of the San d'Oria Missions as Vauderame, acting as retainer to Rochefogne I Tavnazia. He also features in the Thief Artifact quests, sending the thieves of Tenshodo out to keep tabs on "Atarefaunet's" old band, while in actuality locating and regrouping them.
He also features prominently in many Chains of Promathia cutscenes, claiming to be Louverance. By appearances, the two of them are perfectly identical, except that he wears a red mask, whereas the real Louverance wears a purple mask. It is revealed that he was once a noble from the ruined Tavnazian Marquisate.
Faking his death at the end of the Promathia story, he makes a final appearance as Meransarget, a San d'Orian priest. While he leaves, you can see all the members of Atarefaunet's Band waiting for him.
