- It allows the player to dodge all melee' attacks.
- This does not extend to ranged attacks. These will still hit the player.
- Magic-based attacks will still have an effect on the player.
- Shadows from Blink and Utsusemi will still be removed by AoE physical attacks that would normally strip shadows (although, while this ability is active, you will still be protected from damage).
- The ability is commonly used in conjunction with Flee to "sack pull". This typically involves the thief aggroing a particular set of mobs to allow safe passage for their party.
- Can be used in the case of a link to either zone it or buy some time for the party.
- When under attack by a foe that will surely defeat them and/or they cannot normally escape from (such as a Mimic), some players like to use Perfect Dodge in conjunction with a Scroll of Instant Warp in order to help ensure escape and survival. This also works with log off as long as player has Blink, Stoneskin and/or Utsusemi to assist in the 30 second countdown sequence.
