Historical Background
This name follows the standard naming format used for early NMs, an adjective followed by a personal name. Diamond refers to the precious gem made from Carbon and renowned for its incredible hardness. This part of his name most likely refers to how hard his carapace is. Daig is a very uncommon Irish name which means "fire" which could explain why one of his drops, the Protecting Bangles, decreases ice resistance.
