EXP Camps

New Horizon specific camps are marked with HorizonXI specific changes.

Notes: Monsters on Horizon may have levels that differ from that of retail, be wary when using exp camp guides outside of this wiki as they may not be the same level. Era+ monsters that raise defense raise both P.Def and M.Def at start of the battle, and will lose their defenses if your party coordinates a skill chain + magic burst.

These camps are all aimed at 6 member parties. Please use the template below when adding in new camps and list it under the correct area/level range section (this is under construction).

La Theine Plateau

Level 10-15 HorizonXI specific changes

  • Target(s): Mineral Eater (15-18) HorizonXI specific changes, Plateau Hare (19-20) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: (H-12) by zone to Valkurm Dunes
  • Notes: Worms do not aggro, unknown if Hares link, 1 orc spawn can also be used to fill chains. Hares should not be fought until at least level 13.

Level 14-18 HorizonXI specific changes

  • Target(s): Eikon Worm (19-23) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: (G-6)
  • Notes: Raises defense at start of fight. MP Burn recommended or Magic Burst required. Ghosts pop at night.

Konschtat Highlands

Level 10-15 HorizonXI specific changes

  • Target(s): Mineral Eater (15-18) HorizonXI specific changes, Yellow Jacket (19-20) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: (F-3), (I-5), (L-6)
  • Notes: F-3 Camp has a Goblin Digger that can extend chains. L-6 Camp has Poltergeists (18-20) that can extend chains.

Tahrongi Canyon

Level 10-14 HorizonXI specific changes

  • Target(s): Killer Bees (15-20) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: (F-6)
  • Notes: Bees seem to use Pollen more often than others.

Level 10-15 HorizonXI specific changes

  • Target(s): Cactus Grub (19-20) HorizonXI specific changes, Canyon Wasp (15-18) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: (I-8)

Valkurm Dunes

Level 10-14

  • Target(s): Hill Lizard (15-19)
  • Location: (L-10), (K-9) Tunnel, (D-7), (E-7)
  • Notes: Baleful Gaze petrifies the target if facing. If you are tanking make sure to fight unlocked so you can quickly turn.

Level 13-18

  • Target(s): Snipper (18-22), Damselfly (20-23)
  • Location: (H-9), (I-9), (E-9)
  • Notes: Crabs are the main target at these camps.
  • Target(s): Damselfly (20-23), Brutal Sheep (20-23)
  • Location: (I-7) Signpost
  • Notes: Experience drops at 17 but the amount of easily killable and accessible mobs makes up for it.

Level 16-20

  • Target(s): Beach Pugil (23-26)
  • Location: (H-9), (I-9), (E-9)
  • Notes: A strong party composition is recommended when attempting these camps at level 16.

Buburimu Peninsula

Level 10-14

  • Target(s): Sylvestres (15-19), Mighty Rarab (15-20)
  • Location: (E-7) Behind Outpost, (E-9)
  • Notes: If starting at 10, take care of the level of mob you pull. Try to avoid pulling 7 or more levels above your parties level.

  • Target(s): Carnivorous Crawler (20-23) , Bull Dhalmel (20-23), Goblin Leecher/Gambler/Mugger (22-25)
  • Location: (J-6)/(J-7)
  • Notes: Leecher's cast Cure 3, Silence recommended
  • Target(s): Carnivorous Crawler (20-23), Goblin Leecher/Gambler/Mugger (22-25)
  • Location: (K-9)
  • Notes: Leecher's cast Cure 3, Silence recommended

Level 18-23

  • Target(s): Snippers (24-26), Shoal Pugil (25-28)
  • Location: (J-7) East Beach, (H-9) South Beach
  • Notes: Watch for Bogy spawns at night. Both beaches have safe places to camp outside of blood aggro range.

Level 19-22 HorizonXI specific changes

  • Target(s): Cape Dhalmels (24-26) HorizonXI specific changes, 3rd tier Goblins (21-25)
  • Location: (I-6)
  • Notes: Cape Dhalmels and Bull Dhalmels (20-23) will link, bind or sleep recommended. Significant nearby goblin presence, same levels at Cape Dhalmels and can be used to fill chains if kill speed is high.

Ordelle's Caves

Level 12-14

  • Target(s): Blood Bunnies (17-19)
  • Location: (F-3) Map 1
  • Notes: Can either sit in place or run up and down the tunnel

Pashhow Marshlands

Level 13-18

  • Target(s): Gadfly (18-21), Marsh Funguar (21-25)
  • Location: (G-9)
  • Notes: Be wary of Funguars linking by sound

Level 15-18

  • Target(s): Crawlers (20-23), Leeches (20-23), Marsh Funguars (21-25)
  • Location: (F-5)
  • Notes: Water elemental can sometimes spawn in the back, Marsh Funguars spawn in the road leading to the area, possibly extending this camp to 19 depending on kill speed

Meriphataud Mountains

Level 13-17

  • Target(s): Crane Fly (18-21), Hill Lizard (19-22)
  • Location: (E-6) by Outpost
  • Notes: 2 goblins around, can be fought depending on party

Level 17-21

  • Target(s): Boggart (22-25), Couerl (22-26), 3rd tier Goblins (21-25), Crane Fly (18-21)
  • Location: (D-6) by Spine
  • Notes: Crane Flies can help fill a chain if they're high enough level, but there are plenty of boggarts on both sides of the spine

  • Notes: 8 crawlers, 10 if you roam into the eastern tunnel

Level 20-30

Qufim Island

Level 19-21

  • Target(s): Clipper, Land Worm
  • Location: (H-7)
  • Notes: Circle around lake killing worms and crabs. At night, banshees spawn at lake so you will need to camp in a tunnel and pull crabs to you. Crabs here spawn slightly lower level than others.

Level 22-24

  • Location: (G-8)
  • Notes: Raises defense at start of fight. MP Burn recommended or Magic Burst required.

Meriphataud Mountains

  • Target(s): Puma (29-31) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: Meriphataud Mountains @ (D-10)
    • Inflicts Paralyze (Blaster) and Silence (Chaotic Eye.) Paralyna/Silena recommended.
    • Supports 1-2 parties, Beware Drooling Hound (31-33) at night, it has AoE Disease

Sauromugue Champaign

Level 24-27

  • Target(s): Sauromugue Skink (28-32), Diving Beetle (30-32)
  • Location: (I-7)

Level 25-28

  • Target(s): Evil Weapons (34-38)
  • Location: Sauromugue Champaign @ (G-7)
  • Notes: The weapons on Horizon here spawn as low as 34 (retail was 36). One weapon is also stuck in the spine, but can be hit by getting close to it.

Yuhtunga Jungle

Level 25-27

  • Target(s): Yuhtunga Mandragora, Goblin Smithy
  • Location: Kazham Zone
  • Notes: Supports at least 3 parties.

Level 28-32

  • Target(s): Death Jacket (33-37)
  • Location: (I-7)

Level 30-40

Yuhtunga Jungle

  • Target(s): Sahagin (34-38), Makara (35-38)
  • Location: (F-11/G-11)
  • Notes: Close to the zone for Sea Serpent Grotto

  • Notes: Raises defense at start of fight. MP Burn recommended or Magic Burst required.

Batallia Downs

Level 30-33

  • Target(s): Evil Weapon (36-38)

  • Note: Only 5 spawns, so EXP falls off at 33.

  • Beetles aggro, bats link, beetles will be difficult at 34

Gustav Tunnel

  • Notes: Sufficient mobs for 2 parties.

  • Notes: Do not raise defense (Confirmed by Charsi)

  • Location: Yhoator Jungle @ (I-11)
  • Notes: Raises defense at start of fight. Induration magic burst negates defenses.

Crawler's Nest

Level 44-47

  • Target(s): Hornfly (50-53)
  • Location: (J-8) Map 3
  • Notes: Can also mix in Exorays(51-54) or other mobs in the area. Typically enough spawns for 2 parties, can camp at other entrances to room as well.

Level 45-48

  • Target(s): Rumble Crawler (53-55)
  • Location: (G-9) Map 3
  • Notes: Dispel/Finale recommended.

Garliage Citadel

Level 45-51

  • Target(s): Funnel Bats(53-55) and Chamber Beetles(56-58)
  • Location: (G-6) or (J-8) Basement Map
  • Notes: Funnel Bats initially, moving up to Chamber Beetles around level ~48. Supports 2 parties.

Western Altepa Desert

  • Notes: Start on Beetles, Move up to Antica in the higher range.

Western Altepa Desert

  • Location: (E-9)
  • Notes: Raises defense at start of fight, MP burn recommended or Magic Burst required. Piercing damage resistant.

  • Location: (F-7)
  • Notes: On pull, Raises it's Defenses - Goes away during the day

  • Location: (H-10)
  • Notes: Defense boost possible, untested.

Kuftal Tunnel

Level 51-55 (Maybe possible at 50)

  • Target: Robber Crab (xx-xx)
  • Location: Cape Terrigan Exit, Western Altepa Entrance, Amemet Camp
  • Notes: Plenty of crabs to go around, just be cautious for Guivre when getting to your camp, Sneak will be required to travel through this area.

King Ranperre's Tomb

Level 53-55 Verification Needed

  • Target(s): Thousand Eyes (Hecteyes, 60-62), Dire Bat (62-64)
  • Location: Map 2 (G-8)
  • Notes: Good alternative when bats or worms are full. One Dire Bat sits on camp, but theres a small room full of Thousand Eyes that do not link next to it.

The Boyahda Tree

Level 53-56 Verification Needed

  • Target(s): Robber Crab(xx-xx), Knight Crawler(xx-xx)
  • Location: Map 1 (G-8), (J-9), (E-6), (D-4)
  • Notes: Many camps/mobs, supports at least two parties.

Cape Terrigan

Level 56-60 Verification Needed

  • Target(s): Robber Crab(xx-xx), Velociraptor(xx-xx), Terror Pugil(xx-xx)
  • Location: (I-9)
  • Notes: Supports two parties. Viruna suggested if you plan on fighting many raptors.

Valley of Sorrows

Level 58-61 Verification Needed

  • Target(s): Velociraptor(xx-xx), Perryton(xx-xx)
  • Location: (F-8), (J-9) (Either zone line)
  • Notes: Supports two parties. Viruna required.

Gusgen Mines

Level 16-19

  • Target(s): Ghouls (21-24) HorizonXI specific changes
  • Location: (G-8), (H-8)
  • Notes: Camp is for MNK/PLD/WHM (Holy Party)

Level 21-28

  • Target(s): Mauthe Doog (28-31), Wright (29-34), Wendigo (26-30), Banshee (31-34), Bogy (27-29), Ghast (30-34)
  • Location: (G-7) Map 2 behind first center door on staircase, Gadfly/Bogy Room, Behind East Banshee Door.
  • Notes: WHM Cure Burn party. WHM/NIN with Utsusemi recommended (if not able, Blink is required). Bring assistance for Raise and Viruna as the TP moves from Banshee really hurt and Rot Gas virus effect can last up to 5 minutes. Level sync 21-25 on Bogy Room and 26-29 behind the east Banshee door where no mobs spawn. Sneak is required to reach camp.
