Coming in two varieties, Warriors or Red Mages, these strange looking monsters appear almost animalistic in nature, but are part of the arcane system. The two jobs look the same and use the same weapon, but can be distinguished by their behavior, with the Red Mage variety able of course to cast spells.

The origin of these so-called "Evil Weapons" is unknown, but they are often spotted near Crags or other forms of Cermet, leading some to speculate that their powers are somehow connected with energy of the Mothercrystals, or otherwise associated with the Zilart.

Irrespective of their origin, or the origin of their seemingly magical animation, they can put up a fight. Those who defeat them are rarely rewarded. – if at all. Many Evil Weapons carry nothing on them, and only a few carry some occasionally needed, specialty items, such as keys or maybe a scroll.
