Available after completing the quests [[Save My Son]] and [[Path of the Beastmaster]], these experts in monster research have trained tirelessly to communicate with, and even control the animals of [[Vana'diel]].  Based on their [[:Category:Bestiary#Beast Strength Chart|knowledge of beasts]], Beastmasters (BST) can [[charm]] the beasts of Vana'diel to fight alongside them or obtain items that summon beasts called [[:Category:Familiars|Familiars]] through the [[Call Beast]] job ability.

Beastmasters are generally considered the best solo job in the game. Beastmasters often can be found soloing monsters or teaming up with other Beastmasters in all-Beastmaster [[parties]].  In a conventional party, a Beastmaster will most frequently fill the roles of [[Damage Dealer|damage dealer]] and [[puller]], and augment their damage with [[Jug Pet|"Jug Pets"]].

Available after completing the quests Save My Son and Path of the Beastmaster, these experts in monster research have trained tirelessly to communicate with, and even control the animals of Vana'diel. In a conventional party, a Beastmaster will most frequently fill the roles of damage dealer and puller, and augment their damage with "Jug Pets".

Horizon Changes HorizonXI specific changes

  • Moderate changes to Artifact Armor.
  • Significant changes to the relic weapon Guttler.
  • The night flowers that need to be examined while doing the Save My Son quest can be examined as early as 16:00 and as late as 06:00 hours in game. This may or may not be a bug.
  • Ready wasn't available until 2009. There are only 45 seconds between charges as opposed to 60 seconds when it was available. A maximum of 3 charges still applies but this is now attained after 2 minutes and 25 seconds has passed as opposed to 3 minutes.
  • Every physical and magical damage dealing TP move is no longer imbued with Skillchain Attributes/Magic Burst Properties.
  • Pets will persist through a player zoning.
  • All HQ Familiars now cap at 75.
  • Pet food has been buffed to provide increased HP/stats etc. to pets.
