Found haunting every corner of Vana'diel, these frolicking ghosts are said to be unaware of their passage into the afterlife and have returned to possess their former clothing. They love the attention of living beings, and unwittingly sow death and misery with their deadly pranks.
In Original, Zilart, and Promathia areas, they are known as "Ghosts" and have a dark look. In Aht Urhgan areas, they are known as "Bhoot" and have a significantly different look, with a blue color and a 'tribal tattoo' look.

Historical Background
Ghost is the generic word for a non-corporeal spirit which is the manifestation of a dead person or animal. Ghosts exist across several mythologies and various peoples and possibly pre-date written history. The word ghost is the Old English rendering of what the Latin word spiritus meant, referring the the disembodied spirit of a deceased person. The modern compound words using ghost, such as ghost town, ghost writing, did not originate until the 19th and 20th centuries.
