HorizonXI is an 'era+' FFXI private server. The 'era+' alludes to custom changes made by the development team in an attempt to balance the game more fairly and to make some lesser used content more relevant. This page contains a list of all KNOWN custom changes.

Jobs

Warrior

Monk

  • Boost - Larger attack bonus of 20% Verification Needed, longer recast of 30 seconds, duration 3 minutes.
  • Focus - learned 15, 3 minute duration, increase crit hit rate by ??? Verification Needed
  • Dodge - learned 25, 3 minute duration, increases guard rate by ??? Verification Needed
  • Chakra - recast time now 2 minutes
  • Chi Blast - also removes 1 mob buff (Dispel)

White Mage

  • Divine Veil - Enhances Regen and lowers cooldown of divine seal.
  • Devotion - Was unlocked via merits in era, now unlocked at level 45.

Black Mage


Red Mage

  • Convert - Recast upped from 10 to 13 minutes. Reduction per merit reduced from 20s to 12s.
  • Refresh - MP cost upped from 40 to 50.

Thief

Paladin

  • Holy Circle - many changes to give the ability real purpose vs undead.
  • Enlight - wasn't originally in CoP era and level 85 to unlock on retail, now learnable at level 40..
  • Auto-Refresh - changed to level 25. It was also unavailable in the CoP era.
  • Club Skill - able to use most clubs now and Starlight available at skill level 40.
  • Chivalry - available at level 45 (was originaly a merit ability)

  • Arcane Circle - damage bonus against arcana for all parties members.
  • Souleater - uses ~20% of health per hit(When using WS) but only increases damage by 10% of health Verification Needed
  • Desperate Blows - trait is out of era and has been condensed from multiple tiers down into one.

  • Camoflage - Now grants Enmity reduction on next attack.

Samurai

  • Mijin Gakure - Has been replaced with Mikage. - Version 1.1
  • Utsusemi - recast increased by 15 seconds for both spells.
  • Yonin - modified to only -15% att, emn +10, and reduces recast of utsus by 10 seconds.
  • Ninjutsu - all Ninjustu have +15 magic accuracy, with a further +10 for all elemental wheel spells (+25 m.acc total.) This effect is increased to +50 extra magic accuracy on magic bursts, on all non-notorious monsters.
  • Mikage - Custom 2hr ability. Player receives 4 shadows upon activation. Grants a 30 second duration where elemental ninjutsu spells deal a multiplied amount of damage, with the amount of multiplication decided on the amount of shadows remaining. - Version 1.1

  • Two handed weapon changes from WotG implented. One handed changes also from later time.
  • Club damage was buffed
  • 2007 Signet bonus changes are in effect.

Weapon Skills:

Spells and Magic

  • Magic Burst damage and magic accuracy has been enhanced on regular mobs, with the effect removed for notorious monsters. "The current system follows the era magic system except in the following instances: a) Magic Bursts Grant 35MACC 35MATT. (Except on NMs) b) Ninjutsu has bonus 15MACC on top of that."
  • The incremental rate at which MP is recovered through /heal is now +4, differing from the +1 value from retail/era.
  • The set of Clear Mind job traits has been modified. Clear Mind III now features +15 total hMP but without any bonuses to the incremental rate. Clear Mind V now features +17 total hMP while only adding +2 to the incremental rate.
  • Haste recast time reduced from 20 to 18 seconds. - Version 1.1
  • Refresh recast time reduced from 18 to 16 seconds. - Version 1.1

Items

  • Notorious Monsters drop the non RA/EX versions of gear and weapons if possible.
  • Warp rings are no longer usable.
  • Laurel crown is now cosmetic and not able to teleport.

Weapons

Armor

  • RoZ Rewards earrings all changed.
  • CoP Rewards rings except Rajas Ring.
  • Stealth Earring now has the Enhances Dual Wield that suppa used to.
  • Added Shepherd's Armor Set for pet jobs.
  • Speed Belt reduction in haste.
  • Armada Set gained small haste buff of +1~2% per piece.
  • Many of the LVL 30 JSE Accessories for Subjobs were modified to attempt to offer more sub optional enhancements.
  • Most jobs Artifact Armor has had adjustments to the "Less desirable pieces" to have a small stat buff added to make them not entirely useless.
  • All Artifact Weapons were changed to level 40, with some adjustments.
  • Many Endgame armor pieces were modified from era (ie. Koenig Curiass)
  • Some Conquest items were changed.
  • Exp Rings have been modified.
  • Level 30 latent effect earrings have been changed
  • Players no longer start with their corresponding nations ring (eg. San d'Orian Ring. Instead they are awarded upon completing nation mission 1-3.

Quests, Missions, & Battlefields

Quests

  • New quest Fill In to obtain Nanaa's Charm
  • Some Quest cooldowns removed, allowing them to be repeated quickly.
  • Chocobo's Wounds now only requires about one Vana'diel hour (2.5 minutes) between trades.


Crafting, Gathering, Fishing

  • Chocobo Digging now has visible skill-up messages when undertaking in the activity.
  • Chocobo Digging loot pools have been changed to increase the amount of profitable locations. - Version 1.1
  • Many gathered items (such as ores) are stackable.


Monsters

  • Mob distribution in some zones has been changed. Instances of both mobs being moved and/or removed.
  • New mobs have been added to many zones to increase the amount of xping locations.
  • Dungeon type zone mob respawn is set to 5 mins.

Dynamis

  • The level range of monsters in Dynamis zones has been tightened and the maximum level range of Dynamis monsters has been increased. The purpose of this change is to make Dynamis monsters more challenging. - Version 1.1
  • New NPC's added: Billrox, Bronzvox and Sheltrix. Each will convert one hundred pieces of Dynamis Currency into single pieces of currency. - Version 1.1

System

  • All Auction Houses are linked and each player has a 21 item limit.
  • Bazaar tax is set to 10% across the world.
  • Yells only appear in the log whilst being inside a town or city zone.

  • Launch Patch Date: April 17, 2006 (day before ToAH update)
  • Accounts/Characters: 1 account (single box) and 3 characters per IP address
  • Movement Speed: 40 - Level 75 cap era default movement speed (-20% speed)
  • Experience Rates: 1.0 - Wings of the Goddess (“WoTG”) EXP rates
  • Crafting Rates: 1.0
  • Level Sync: Launch System - Unlimited Sync with scaling penalty (see “System: Level Sync” section below)
  • Equipment Scaling (Level Sync): Disabled
  • Auction House: Stocked by players - 21 item limit per character
  • Fishing: Enabled
  • Gardening: Enabled
  • Chocobo Digging: Enabled
  • Dynamis: CoP era with 71 hour lockout (reduced from 72), rumors state it is an entirely new system built by the devs from scratch.
  • Claim Shield: Added to prominent NMs to provide a fair playing experience for all players. HorizonXI uses a lottery based claim shield system where each person has the opportunity to act on the mob once for a chance to claim the monster. After all players have acted and the claim window has closed, the monster will randomly select one person who acted on it and give them the claim. Multiple actions taken on a monster during the lottery do not increase your chances at claiming - each person can only enter the claim lottery once before the lottery window ends.
  • Inventory Expansions: Mog Wardrobes 1 and 2 to be unlocked by completing certain objectives (see “System: Inventory Expansion” section below)
  • Treasure Hunter: Era accurate (we used SE's official Treasure Hunter chart to build our system)
  • Era accurate drop rates: Drop rates for all items have been adjusted to reflect the era experience more accurately


Verification Needed

  • Boost only giving 5% increased attack.
  • Counterstance reduces more defense than normal and doesn't give any positive buffs.
  • Pet food incorrectly displays level 1 for all types, needs to be correct level from retail to equip and use.
  • Gravity movement speed issues. Fixed with update on 03/03/2023? Verification Needed
